ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking a Sourcing Category Manager – Senior Advisor with strong expertise in Supplier Relationship Management, Software, Hardware, Professional Services, and reseller procurement to help shape how Jack Henry partners with its most critical external suppliers. In this highly visible role, you will lead category strategy, supplier strategy, negotiate complex service and reseller agreements, and establish best-in-class governance models that enable the business to move fast while managing cost and risk.
You will work closely with IT, Finance, Legal, and business leaders as a trusted advisor—helping teams select the right partners, structure engagements for success, and maximize the value delivered through consulting, systems integrators, managed services, and reseller relationships. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys influencing enterprise decisions, solving complex commercial challenges, and driving meaningful impact through strategic sourcing and supplier collaboration.
This position is a hybrid role requiring at least 2 days per week in any of the following office locations: Allen, TX / Lenexa, KS / Monett, MO and or Springfield, MO.
What you'll be responsible for:
- Ability to define enterprise-wide supply strategies and drive corporate objectives through expert guidance on emerging trends.
- Leads analysis of industry trends and future technologies to advise on strategic supply base opportunities, cost reduction, and competitive advantage.
- Oversees supplier management and performance metrics, ensuring maximum value, contract compliance, and alignment with organizational goals.
- Functions as a strategic advisor to cross-functional teams, leading high-impact sourcing initiatives and identifying enterprise-level optimization opportunities.
- Leads high-visibility negotiations for major supplier agreements and contracts, selecting the methods and evaluation criteria to obtain optimal solutions.
- Champions spend transparency and organizational efficiency by leveraging advanced cost modeling to inform executive decision-making and best-in-class procedures.
- Ensures internal adherence to procurement processes and delegation of authority while executing special projects as determined by management.
- Transfers knowledge to mentor and develop less experienced peers, building consistent expertise across the organization.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have a minimum of 13 years of combination experience in any of the following: strategic sourcing, category management (software, reseller, referral agreements and professional services), vendor management, procurement in a service or fintech industry (indirect purchasing).
- Must have advanced level of experience in red lining agreements.
- Proficient level of experience in pricing negotiation with suppliers.
- Must have the ability to handle multi million dollar deals with complex structures.
- Timeline driven and self-prioritize and recognize when escalation is needed.
- Must be able to travel up to 5% to attend Jack Henry meetings, trainings, and/or professional conferences.
- Must be able to work extended hours during major negotiations or RFx cycles.
- Must have strong business acumen skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have strong data analysis experience in presenting to leadership.
- Must be process oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering or supply chain.
- Experience with supplier relationship management.
- Experience with digital sourcing platforms (e.g., Oracle Fusion, Coupa, Ariba, Jaggaer, GEP).
- Experience utilizing contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems.
- Managing e-sourcing tools.
- Experience utilizing AI, automation, or predictive analytics in procurement.
- Track record of driving supplier diversity and sustainability initiatives.
