Provides technical lab support by performing complex lab and research related tasks to ensure accurate research results that can expand on the knowledge of the field of study. Responsible for following lab safety standards.

We are seeking a full-time Database Research Manager who is eager to contribute to the success of a newly established institute focused on children’s positive relationships and well-being. We are looking for someone who values our mission of research and impact related to enhancing children’s lives and who is excited to join a dynamic and collaborative team that is launching the Institute and its work.
Under administrative direction, the Database Research Manager works closely with research team members in contributing to the effective implementation and execution of research and will oversee data entry and maintain child development research-related databases, including data such as longitudinal data, intervention and implementation data, multi-level data, and observational, peer nomination, and survey data. To do so, the Database Research Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of all data management activities, including development, sharing, storage, and management of research datasets to ensure researchers meet the necessary requirements to analyze and publish research data with integrity.
Essential Duties:
- Designs, develops, and modifies data infrastructure to accelerate data analysis and reporting in line with scientific standards and best practices
- Develops, oversees, and maintains data handling and archiving protocols
- Operates and trains others in the operation of research support equipment for the development and entry of research data
- Oversees and ensures entry and uploading of quantitative child development data, working with database and statistical programs such as ACCESS, Excel, Qualtrics, RedCap, R, SPSS, and SAS
- Uses syntax to create variables and manages complex data manipulations, including those needed for observational, longitudinal, peer nomination, and survey data
- Responsive to team members, engaged in work production, resourceful, flexible, and respectful of others
- Work effectively with a variety of stakeholders with potentially divergent interests, priorities, and requirements
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree
- Preference for experience with data in psychology, education, child and family sciences, social work, or related areas
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques relevant to the study of children’s development
- Passion for applying your knowledge and experience to address important social issues related to children’s development
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team
Working Environment:
- Climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of being in a stationary position
- Operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer
- Ability to clearly communicate and exchange accurate information to perform essential duties
- Regular activities include ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
