Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Property Accountant
Verify your CPA credential transfers correctly
TN classification for accountants requires a baccalaureate degree in accounting. If your Canadian CPA designation is your primary credential, confirm your underlying degree is in accounting, not just business, before targeting roles.
Target real estate firms with in-house accounting
Property management companies, REITs, and commercial real estate developers hire Property Accountants directly and are more practiced at supporting TN status than staffing agencies, which often decline to sponsor.
Search roles using TN-eligible job descriptions
Look for postings that specify accounting degree requirements and property-level financial duties. Listings that emphasize bookkeeping only, without a degree requirement, may not support a TN petition under the accountant category.
Ask employers about TN filing before accepting an offer
Canadians can obtain TN status at a port of entry the same day an offer is accepted. Confirm your employer will provide a support letter documenting the accountant role, your duties, and your intended start date before you resign from any current position.
Use Migrate Mate to find experienced visa sponsors
Identifying which real estate and property management employers are experienced with visa sponsorship narrows your search significantly. Migrate Mate surfaces employers by role and recent visa filings so you can target companies with a track record of sponsoring work visas. For TN roles, this employer experience with visa processes—combined with your professional qualifications—increases the likelihood they'll support your TN application at the port of entry or consulate.
Prepare your employer support letter with TN-compliant duty descriptions
CBP officers adjudicate TN petitions at the border using the support letter alone. Ensure your letter describes duties that align with the TN accountant occupational requirements, including financial statement preparation, account reconciliation, and internal controls.

Find Property Accountant JobsProperty Accountant TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Property Accountant role qualify for TN visa status?
Yes, Property Accountant roles qualify under the USMCA accountant category when the position requires a baccalaureate degree in accounting and involves duties like financial reporting, reconciliation, and general ledger management. Roles focused purely on data entry or bookkeeping without a degree requirement may not qualify. Your job offer letter must clearly describe accounting-level responsibilities to satisfy CBP review.
How does TN compare to H-1B for a Property Accountant?
TN is significantly more practical for Canadian and Mexican Property Accountants. There is no lottery, no annual cap for Canadians, and Canadians can obtain TN status at a port of entry the same day they present the required documents. H-1B requires lottery selection, a lengthy petition process, and an October 1 start date. For an accountant role with straightforward specialty occupation alignment, TN removes most of that friction entirely.
Can a Mexican citizen get TN status as a Property Accountant?
Yes, Mexican citizens are eligible for TN status as accountants under USMCA, but the process differs from Canada. Mexican nationals must apply at a U.S. consulate in Mexico rather than at the border. TN status for Mexican citizens also has a numerical limit each year, though in practice that cap has not historically been exhausted. Plan for a consular appointment timeline, which can add several weeks to your start date.
Where can I find Property Accountant jobs with TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals seeking U.S. roles with TN visa sponsorship. Rather than filtering through general job boards that rarely surface sponsorship-ready employers, Migrate Mate lets you search Property Accountant roles by TN eligibility and employer filing history, so you spend time on opportunities that can actually move forward.
What documents does my employer need to provide for my TN application?
Your employer must provide a support letter on company letterhead that describes the Property Accountant role, confirms you hold a qualifying accounting degree, states your intended employment period, and includes your compensation details. Canadian citizens present this letter at the port of entry along with proof of citizenship and their degree credential. The letter is the primary document CBP reviews, so precision in the duty description and degree requirement is critical.
