Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Treasury Manager
Align your credentials to Accountant classification
TN visa status for Treasury Managers routes through the Accountant category, so your degree must be in accounting, finance, or a closely related field. A general business degree without a finance concentration can trigger scrutiny at the border or consulate.
Target employers with recent visa filing history
Employers with recent visa filings are already familiar with work visa sponsorship processes. Searching for Treasury Manager roles at companies experienced with visa sponsorship helps you identify employers likely prepared to support your TN application with the required support letter.
Request a detailed offer letter before filing
Your offer letter must specify your title, duties, degree requirement, and full-time or part-time status. CBP officers and consular officers use this document to confirm the role qualifies under USMCA, and vague letters are a common denial trigger for Treasury Manager applications.
Search TN-specific roles through Migrate Mate
Generic job boards don't filter by visa sponsorship type. Migrate Mate surfaces Treasury Manager roles posted by employers open to TN sponsorship, saving you from applying to positions where the hiring team has never navigated USMCA classifications.
Prepare for Mexican nationals' annual cap constraint
Mexico's TN allocation is capped annually under USMCA, unlike Canada's uncapped access. If you're Mexican, confirm the cap hasn't been exhausted for the fiscal year before your employer begins the filing process with USCIS, since a depleted cap means waiting until October 1.
Negotiate employer-paid premium processing upfront
Mexican nationals applying via USCIS petition can request premium processing for a faster decision, but the fee is typically employer-borne. Clarifying who covers this cost during the offer stage prevents delays when your start date is already set.
Treasury Manager TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Treasury Manager role qualify for TN visa sponsorship?
Yes, Treasury Manager roles qualify under the Accountant category of USMCA's TN professional list. The role must require and you must hold a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field. Generalist management roles without a clear finance degree requirement are more likely to face challenges during adjudication.
How does the TN visa compare to the H-1B for Treasury Manager positions?
The TN visa has no annual lottery, no cap for Canadian citizens, and can be obtained at a port of entry the same day for Canadians. The H-1B visa requires lottery selection, a months-long petition process, and a specific start date. For Treasury Manager roles that fit the Accountant classification, TN is a faster and more predictable path than H-1B.
What documents does my employer need to provide for my TN application?
Your employer must provide a signed offer letter specifying your job title, duties, the degree required for the position, and your period of employment. For Mexican nationals, the employer submits Form I-129 with USCIS through the consular process, and you apply at a U.S. consulate with the support documentation. Canadians present these documents directly at the port of entry.
Where can I find Treasury Manager jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals seeking U.S. roles with TN visa sponsorship. Rather than filtering through general job listings where sponsorship details are unclear, Migrate Mate surfaces positions posted by employers who are open to sponsoring TN applicants for professional roles including Treasury Manager.
Can I switch Treasury Manager employers while on TN status?
Yes, but you must obtain new TN status before starting with the new employer. Canadians can apply at a port of entry with a new offer letter from the incoming employer. Mexican nationals need a new I-129 petition approved by USCIS. Working for the new employer before the new TN is approved violates your status, even if your current TN hasn't expired.
