INTRODUCTION
We mainly operate semi truck and trailers for custom hauling of chopped corn or wheat from the field directly off the silage harvesters to silage pits at dairies and feedlots, also transport manure from cattle pens to fields.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This involves loading trucks with front end loaders, basic maintenance and repairs will need to be carried out on trucks, vehicles and equipment, some help required with small cattle operation moving, vaccinating and very possibly help in putting up hay for the cattle. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as:
- Attach/detach implements
- Be able to handle working in high humidity
- Clean work areas
- Construct facilities
- Direct and monitor work during planting and harvesting
- Haul and spread materials such as but not limited to fertilizer to condition the soil
- Load crops and drive trucks to transport to and from fields and/or storage locations or facilities
- Load and unload materials and commodities
- Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields
- Maintain grounds and landscaping
- Maintain inventory
- Operate self propelled machinery
- Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment
- Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures
- Set up repair, maintain, and operate specialized equipment
- Tend to livestock by feeding, medicating, general care, grading, sorting, working, placing identification on, or relocating
- Use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, loppers, and knives
- Use hand tools such as wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools
- Work in extreme temperatures
Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: bailers and other hay equipment, combines or other harvesting equipment, dirt moving equipment, forklift, manure spreading equipment, pickups, cars, etc, semi trucks, skid steers, straight frame trucks, tractor/trailer combinations, tractors. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: cattle, corn, grain sorghum, silage, wheat.
Must speak and understand English.
