Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step Down/Advanced PCU position in Atlanta, GA, requiring at least 18 months of specialty experience and a GA or compact RN license in hand.
Details
- High-acuity step down unit that functions similarly to an ICU, classified as an advanced PCU
- Patient population includes 24-hour post-CABG cardiac surgery patients with chest tubes
- Unit also cares for patients with LVADs; hospital provides LVAD training
- Patient ratio is 1:4 or 1:5
- No ventilator management required on this unit
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active GA or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current ACLS certification required
- Minimum 18 months of specialty experience within the past 3 years
- Ventilator experience is not required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Former permanent staff of Emory or Houston facilities must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning to the health system; if returning to the same facility, a minimum 18-month separation is required
- RTO is limited to a maximum of 5 days per contract; if RTO falls on or near a holiday, the maximum is reduced to 3 days
- Only one holiday RTO request is permitted, and consecutive days off during the holiday period are not approved
- Candidates cannot be submitted to more than one position at a time within this health system
