Title: Quality Manager
Location: Huntsville, AL
- This position may require up to 10% travel to both CONUS and OCONUS locations
Position Status: Full Time
Work Schedule: Regular hours are Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Employees may need to adjust work hours during surge situations. Alternate work schedule (9/8-80) is available after 30 days.
Brief Job Description:
The Quality Manager is accountable for the development and maintenance of the Quality Management System. As well as being a key contributor to inspection processes for manufacturing and parts procurement.
Responsibilities
- Oversees and enforces the adherence to established policies and regulations
- Ensures the safety of product, personnel and environment
- Manages QMS Training ensuring adequate and relevant training is being conducted and documented
- Develops and maintains the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Maintain QT9 Quality Management System Software
- Ensures adherence to the AS9100, AS9110, and AS9120 Standards
- Develops policies and procedures to support the QMS
- Manages audit team to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and AS9100, AS9110, 9120
- Continuously works towards process improvement
- Conducts random program spot checks
- Conduct facility inspection to ensure program compliance
- Monitors Quality Objectives and maintain metric spread sheets and graphs
- Conducts Quality Management Review meeting
- Develops and schedules training
- Maintains the training database
- Supports other process managers as needed
- Communicates with DCMA and customer Quality Representatives
- Perform parts and material receiving inspections
- Perform manufacturing in process and final inspections
- Develop and perform tests on manufactured articles
- Complete AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation
- Complete Certificates of Conformance (CoC)
- Performs other tasks as needed
Requirements
- Certified internal auditor to the AS9100 and/or AS9110 Standard
- Current or previous IPC-620/610 certification
- Experience completing AS9102 FAI documentation.
- Proficient in reading and understanding Blueprints and BOM
- Experience working with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) software
- Professional Certifications will be considered a plus
- Must have strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Must be detail oriented with good analytical skills and ability to handle multiple tasks independently
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must have attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Must demonstrate positive, polite, and professional behavior at all times when dealing with co-workers, customers, and all levels of management
- Must have the ability to communicate using clear, concise, and accurate English; both verbal and written are Required
Physical Requirements:
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility to include but not limited to: bending, reaching, climbing, turning, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required. Must be able to lift, move, and transport items frequently over 10 pounds.
Work Environment:
Generally, work is conducted in an inside environment, but may also involve some outside work depending on the task. The inside environment may be in an office or cubicle with close quarters, low to moderate noise, and bright or dim lighting. Outside work may include various environmental conditions including warm and cold climates and while on travel.
