Which medical devices companies sponsor H-1B1 Chile visas in California?
California hosts some of the largest medical devices employers in the country, including Abbott, Edwards Lifesciences, Medtronic, Align Technology, Hologic, and Intuitive Surgical. Many of these companies have filed Labor Condition Applications for specialty occupation roles and have established processes for H-1B1 visa Chile sponsorship. Reviewing OFLC Labor Condition Application disclosure data by employer and occupation code can help identify which companies have filed for relevant roles.
Which cities in California have the most medical devices H-1B1 Chile sponsorship jobs?
San Diego and the San Francisco Bay Area account for the highest concentration of medical devices sponsorship activity in California. San Diego is home to major device manufacturers and diagnostics companies clustered around the Torrey Pines and Sorrento Valley corridors. The Bay Area, particularly Santa Clara County and the South Bay, hosts engineering-heavy device firms. Los Angeles and Orange County also have meaningful employer presence, especially in cardiovascular and orthopedic devices.
What types of medical devices roles typically qualify for H-1B1 Chile sponsorship?
Roles that typically qualify are those meeting the specialty occupation standard, meaning they require at least a U.S. bachelor's degree or equivalent in a specific field directly related to the position. In medical devices, this commonly includes regulatory affairs specialists, biomedical engineers, quality assurance engineers, clinical applications specialists, hardware and software engineers developing device systems, and research scientists. Roles requiring only a general degree or where no specific field is required are less likely to qualify.
How do I find medical devices H-1B1 Chile sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate is specifically built for this search, you can filter by visa type, state, and industry to surface medical devices employers in California with verified H-1B1 Chile Labor Condition Application filing history. This makes it straightforward to focus your applications on companies that have already demonstrated willingness to sponsor Chilean nationals in specialty occupation roles, rather than contacting employers who may be unfamiliar with the H-1B1 Chile category.
Are there California-specific considerations for H-1B1 Chile sponsorship in medical devices?
California's medical devices sector is heavily regulated at both the federal and state level, which shapes the types of specialty occupation roles available. Many employers in the state require familiarity with FDA quality system regulations and California Department of Public Health device manufacturing requirements, making engineering, regulatory affairs, and quality compliance roles particularly common sponsorship targets. Additionally, California's competitive hiring environment means employers sponsoring H-1B1 Chile workers often have structured immigration support processes already in place.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 Chile medical devices jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
