Which accounting companies sponsor H-1B1 Singapore visas in California?
The Big Four firms, Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, and Ernst & Young, have consistent H-1B1 visa Singapore sponsorship histories across their California offices. Regional and mid-size firms such as BDO, RSM, and Grant Thornton also sponsor, particularly in San Francisco and Los Angeles. You can review Labor Condition Application filing histories through the OFLC's public disclosure data to identify active sponsors by employer name and location.
Which cities in California have the most accounting H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship jobs?
San Francisco and the broader Bay Area lead in volume, driven by the concentration of technology company finance and accounting functions alongside large audit practices. Los Angeles follows, with significant demand in entertainment, real estate, and multinational corporate accounting. San Jose, Sacramento, and San Diego also have active markets, particularly for corporate controllers, tax specialists, and audit associates within regional firm branches and large employers.
How do I find accounting H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, it surfaces California accounting roles from employers with verified H-1B1 Singapore LCA filing histories, so you're not sifting through postings that won't support your visa. Filter by state, visa type, and industry to see current openings in audit, tax, and advisory. Combine this with direct outreach to Big Four and mid-market firms in San Francisco and Los Angeles that have active California practices.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship?
Roles that require at least a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a directly related field generally qualify as specialty occupations under the H-1B1. These include external audit associates, tax analysts, financial reporting accountants, management accountants, and forensic accounting specialists. Positions like general bookkeeping or data entry that don't require a specific degree typically don't meet the specialty occupation threshold. CPA licensure strengthens a petition but isn't independently sufficient.
Are there California-specific considerations for H-1B1 Singapore accounting sponsorship?
California has its own CPA licensing requirements administered by the California Board of Accountancy, which are separate from federal visa eligibility. Employers filing Labor Condition Applications in California must post notices at the worksite and meet state prevailing wage standards, which can differ from federal OFLC wage levels. Singapore nationals should also be aware that the H-1B1 does not carry dual-intent protections, so maintaining clear nonimmigrant intent is important throughout the process.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 Singapore accounting jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
