Which aerospace and defense companies sponsor H-1B1 Chile visas in North Carolina?
North Carolina's aerospace and defense employers with documented H-1B1 visa or similar specialty occupation sponsorship history include Spirit AeroSystems in Kinston, GE Aviation in Durham, L3Harris Technologies, and Northrop Grumman. Smaller MRO and defense contractors operating near military installations like Fort Liberty and Seymour Johnson Air Force Base also periodically sponsor Chilean nationals in technical roles. Sponsorship patterns vary by company and hiring cycle.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most aerospace and defense H-1B1 Chile sponsorship jobs?
The Charlotte metro area hosts a concentration of aviation maintenance and defense contracting firms. The Raleigh-Durham Research Triangle draws aerospace engineering and systems roles tied to defense research. Kinston supports Spirit AeroSystems' commercial aerostructures work, and Greensboro anchors Piedmont Triad International Airport's MRO cluster. Goldsboro and Fayetteville see demand near Seymour Johnson and Fort Liberty, respectively, for defense-adjacent technical positions.
How do I find aerospace and defense H-1B1 Chile sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for H-1B1 Chile visa sponsorship in North Carolina's aerospace and defense sector, surfacing roles from employers with verified LCA filing history. This removes the guesswork of identifying which companies will engage with the H-1B1 process for Chilean nationals. You can narrow results by city and job function, making it practical to focus your applications on employers already familiar with this visa category.
What types of aerospace and defense roles typically qualify for H-1B1 Chile sponsorship in North Carolina?
Roles that typically meet the H-1B1 specialty occupation standard in aerospace and defense include aerospace engineers, avionics systems engineers, structural analysts, software engineers working on defense or flight systems, quality assurance engineers, and systems integration specialists. The position must require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. General technician or production roles without a degree requirement do not qualify under the H-1B1 category.
Are there state-specific or industry-specific considerations for H-1B1 Chile sponsorship in North Carolina's aerospace sector?
North Carolina does not impose state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal obligations, but aerospace and defense employers with federal contracts must comply with export control regulations under ITAR and EAR. These rules can restrict foreign national access to certain technical data or facilities, which may affect hiring timelines and the specific roles available to H-1B1 Chile holders. Candidates should verify whether a prospective employer's projects involve export-controlled technology before applying.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 Chile aerospace & defense jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
