Which aerospace and defense companies sponsor H-1B1 Chile visas in Utah?
Utah's major defense contractors with H-1B1 visa Chile sponsorship history include Northrop Grumman, L3Harris Technologies, Raytheon (an RTX company), Boeing, and Lockheed Martin, which maintain significant operations along the Wasatch Front and near Hill Air Force Base. Smaller defense subcontractors and systems integrators in Ogden, Salt Lake City, and Clearfield also file Labor Condition Applications for specialty occupation roles, though sponsorship activity varies by employer and fiscal year.
Which cities in Utah have the most aerospace and defense H-1B1 Chile sponsorship jobs?
Ogden and the surrounding Weber County area, anchored by Hill Air Force Base, concentrate the highest density of aerospace and defense employers in Utah. Salt Lake City and its suburbs, including West Valley City and Murray, host engineering offices and defense technology firms. Clearfield and Roy have manufacturing and maintenance operations tied to major contractors. These corridors account for most H-1B1 Chile Labor Condition Application filings in Utah's defense sector.
How do I find aerospace and defense H-1B1 Chile sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate lets you filter aerospace and defense jobs in Utah specifically by H-1B1 Chile visa sponsorship, showing employers with verified Labor Condition Application filing history in that occupation and state. This is more reliable than broad job searches because it surfaces companies that have demonstrably sponsored H-1B1 Chile workers for defense and engineering roles in Utah, saving you time screening employers who may not be familiar with the visa category.
What types of aerospace and defense roles typically qualify for H-1B1 Chile sponsorship in Utah?
Roles that typically meet the specialty occupation standard for H-1B1 Chile sponsorship include aerospace engineers, electrical and systems engineers, avionics technicians requiring a bachelor's degree, software engineers supporting defense programs, materials scientists, and quality assurance engineers. Positions tied to research, design, or systems integration at Utah's defense contractors are most commonly supported. Roles without a degree-specific requirement or those classified as skilled trades generally do not qualify for H-1B1 Chile sponsorship.
Are there state-specific or industry-specific considerations for H-1B1 Chile sponsorship in Utah's aerospace sector?
Many Utah aerospace and defense roles involve access to federal facilities or classified programs, which require separate security clearance processes independent of visa status. H-1B visa1 Chile is a nonimmigrant visa and does not automatically confer eligibility for clearances, so employers typically clarify clearance requirements separately during hiring. Utah's defense contractors are generally familiar with employment-based visa sponsorship due to the concentration of federal programs in the state, but H-1B1 Chile specifically is less common than H-1B, so verifying an employer's experience with this visa category is worthwhile.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 Chile aerospace & defense jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
