Maintenance Technician
Wage: Maintenance Technician - starting rate $27.25 - $35.55
Safety Requirements:
This position is considered a Safety Sensitive position.
What you will be doing:
- Ensuring all equipment is maintained according to supplier guidelines.
- This includes conveyors, cranes, refrigeration systems (evaporators and condensers), fire protection, freezer doors, pallet-handling equipment, dock doors and other mechanical systems.
- Performing planned preventative maintenance and repairs in a timely and safe manner, with minimal impact to normal operations.
- Troubleshoot, repair and/or replace components in conveyors, cranes, pneumatic equipment, hydraulic equipment, and other mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot and fix problems with control systems, low-voltage, and high-voltage electrical systems.
- Perform general facility maintenance including minor plumbing, General Electric, lighting, and minor building repairs.
- Assist in other warehouse activities as required.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
- Continually look for opportunities for improvement.
What you will bring to the table:
- High School Diploma.
- 3+ years of work experience in industrial maintenance or related field preferred.
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems preferred.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems preferred.
- Previous experience with PLCs is a plus, as is familiarity with ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Must be able to work effectively in cold freezer environment.
- Must be able to climb 120ft ladder using safety harness.
- On occasion, will be required to wear a SCBA while working, requiring employee to be clean shaven.
