ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
We are actively seeking an experienced Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer with a unique blend of talent for both spearheading high-stakes water/wastewater projects and nurturing client relations with finesse and strategic acuity. We're looking for an experienced and collaborative Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer who will support our Northeast Water Market team, build strategic business partnerships, and deliver high-profile projects with key municipal clients in the Tri-State area. As a key member of our team, you’ll have the chance to work on challenging projects as the key technical lead for wastewater treatment projects – planning, directing, monitoring, and/or delivering all aspects of projects with high degrees of technical complexity from the concept stage through detailed design, construction services, and commissioning.
As a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer, you will need to understand client organizations and processes, develop and maintain consistent relationships at all organizational levels, and work to ensure that Jacobs is the consultant-of-choice for our clients.
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Lead and manage teams through all phases of project planning, execution, and closeout consistent with established project delivery processes to meet the scope, schedule, budget, and other specified requirements stated in the contract. You will have direct access to Jacobs’ well-known, vast network of technical specialists to support your success and career advancement.
- Work on some of the largest PFAS projects in the Country. New Jersey is highly impacted by the latest PFAS regulations which is requiring substantial capital investment by Utilities. You will have the opportunity to make a difference in this high-profile issue affecting the State and the Country alike.
- Work with Project Managers to develop the most suitable solutions for our client's most challenging issues.
- Be accountable for successfully completing projects to the satisfaction of clients and key stakeholders, while simultaneously ensuring that Jacobs’ business and policy expectations are met in the areas of health and safety, quality, financial, project delivery, and risk management.
- Play a leadership role in business development activities that result in the award of new wastewater contracts. This typically includes client relationship development, project-specific positioning activities, teaming arrangements, proposal preparation, and oral presentations.
- Demonstrate leadership by example with integrity and candor in support of the Jacobs Culture of Caring work environment.
- Mentor and support junior staff in the local and regional water group.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S. or M.S. degree in related engineering.
- 10+ years of progressively responsible experience with Wastewater treatment design, planning, and municipal consulting.
- Progressive experience leading/overseeing small to large treatment projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE).
- Strong understanding of industry-standard tools and metrics associated with wastewater, and a proven history of leading project delivery teams to successfully meet client expectations.
- Attributes that include good oral and written communication, self-motivation, team-oriented work practices, strong data analysis and technical problem-solving, and a strong organizational approach.
- Proven track record in developing and maintaining strong client relationships that result in the creation and procurement of new and repeat consulting work.
- Adept at interpersonal relationship building, conflict resolution, and leading diverse teams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
COMPENSATION
- The base salary range for this position is $120,000.00 to $186,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
