Job Description
About Our Facility!
This position is located in our small, but growing, manufacturing and overhaul/repair facility located in Greenville. We have been in operation for over 50 years and offer fantastic benefits and stable work environment. Benefits include medical/dental/vision as well as many supplemental options at low rates. About the Position!
1st shift position with some OT may be required Mon-Friday.
First Shift from 7:00am-3:30pm
$1000 Sign-on Bonus
Starting Rate for this position is $25
Summary
Responsible for the joining, fabrication and repair of metal and other weldable material by applying the appropriate welding techniques.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques.
- Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process.
- Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness.
- Move material to and from workstation by hand, cart and crane as required.
- Use machinery safely and efficiently, welders, handtools, grinders, etc.
- Inspect and test completed units.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and drawings.
- Interpret routing instructions.
- Tag or mark identifying information on parts.
- Grease or lubricate parts as required.
- Adjust and grind down parts if necessary.
- Inspect parts for flaws and imperfections.
- Use calipers and micrometers to measure parts and determine tolerances.
- Measure dimensions/clearance of parts.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Follow all housekeeping and safety rules.
- Other duties as required.
Education/Work Experience Requirements
- Welding certification and at least 2 years of MIG or TIG welding experience or equivalent work experience.
- 6 months experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within welding.
- Ability to measure and convert metric and US standard.
- Must be able to read fabrication & assembly blueprints.
- Ability to read & interpret technical manuals & work procedures.
- Ability for critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Capable of obtaining internal welding certification in MIG and TIG.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- High level knowledge and experience with hand and power tools.
- Basic math skills.
- Experience with calipers, micrometers and other measuring equipment.
- Some repetitive lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Must be willing to work in team environment and take ownership of assembly operations.
- Must be flexible to work in final and sub-assemblies as required.
- Able to work with little supervision, is self-motivated and a self-starter.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an indoor manufacturing environment. The employee will work in areas exposed to production activities to include but not limited to production machinery, assembly operations, overhead cranes usage, and forklift traffic. The employee will be required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to workplace hazards.
Mental Demands: While performing the duties of this class, the employee is regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information and documents; analyze and solve problems; use math and mathematical reasoning; observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or skills; and interact with other employees, customers and vendors.
