INTRODUCTION
MSA Professional Services is seeking a Senior Project Manager – Architecture to lead the successful delivery of municipal and industrial projects throughout Wisconsin. This role combines project leadership, client relationship management, and technical oversight to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Based in either our Madison or Baraboo office, you will play a critical role in supporting MSA’s projects throughout Wisconsin while helping develop the next generation of architects and design professionals. You'll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to create innovative, functional, and community-focused facilities.

Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery:
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams through all phases of project delivery, including pursuit, planning, design, construction, and closeout
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, and client expectations for municipal and industrial projects
- Develop project management plans, QA/QC plans, project schedules, and resource plans to ensure successful outcomes
- Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions when necessary
- Ensure projects are delivered with a high level of quality while maintaining profitability and client satisfaction
Mentorship & Team Development:
- Mentor architects, designers, and emerging professionals across the team
- Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development opportunities for staff
- Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across offices and disciplines
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and talent development efforts
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and project stakeholders
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities for future work
- Lead client meetings, presentations, interviews, and project discussions
- Communicate project scope, budgets, schedules, amendments, and progress updates effectively
- Coordinate with permitting agencies, jurisdictional authorities, contractors, and public stakeholders as required
Project Controls & Financial Management:
- Monitor project budgets, invoicing, work-in-progress, schedules, and resource allocation
- Review project financial performance and implement strategies to maintain profitability
- Manage contract amendments, scope changes, and client invoicing processes
- Utilize project management systems and ERP tools to support project execution and reporting
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering required
Experience
10+ years of relevant professional experience managing architectural projects
- Experience leading municipal, industrial, or public-sector projects preferred
- Demonstrated success managing complex projects, multidisciplinary teams, and client relationships
Licensure
Licensed Architect in WI required.
Professional Involvement
- Active member of AIA preferred
- Industry-related certifications and professional organization involvement encouraged

- Strong project management experience, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource management
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver successful project outcomes

- Strong financial acumen and understanding of project performance metrics

- Compensation Range: $99,800–$159,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
