Job Description
The Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Assistant/Associate/Professor and/or Program Director of the Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship.
Role of the Position
The Department of Internal Medicine is seeking applications for two full-time faculty positions in Hematology and Medical Oncology. Qualified applicants may also be considered for the Program Director role. Responsibilities will include patient care in the inpatient and outpatient setting as well as supervision and teaching of Internal Medicine Residents and Medical Students. The planning for a Hematology and Medical Oncology fellowship program is in progress. The training programs are affiliated with the University Medical Center (UMC) of Southern Nevada, and offer a comprehensive mix of inpatient and ambulatory teaching experiences. The Program has already received ACGME approval to recruit fellows.

Profile of the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine
The Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV has been Transforming Healthcare in Southern Nevada since 2017. Our mission is to serve our patients, students, medical professionals, and community as a transformational force for improving healthcare in Nevada.
Our faculty, students, residents, and fellows have had their research published in top-tier peer-reviewed journals. With a group practice, UNLV Health provides care to more than 10,000 patients per month in its 17 primary care and specialty care clinics, and its partner hospitals.
Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate must have an M.D. or D.O. degree and successfully completed an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine Residency training, and an ACGME accredited Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship training. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Hematology and Medical Oncology prior to the start date.
Candidates must be able to possess and maintain a Nevada State Board of Pharmacy license and DEA License. Nevada medical license must be obtained prior to the start date, malpractice coverage meeting credentialing requirements and must be able to obtain privileges as University Medical Center (UMC) and other site locations as needed. Finalists may be subject to a background check.
The candidate's educational credentials, terminal degree, experience in an academic medical institution or equivalency will be considered in determining the candidate’s recommended rank. The SOM Faculty Appointment, Promotion and Tenure (FAPT) Committee will use the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV (SOM) promotion criteria to recommend the rank to the Dean of the SOM. Tenure considerations may be given upon hire on a case-by-case basis depending on verified previous credentials, the FAPT recommendation, and the SOM Dean’s recommendation.
