The Hispanic-American Institute (www.hainst.org) is a nonprofit corporation with offices in Boston MA, Albuquerque NM and San Juan PR. We provide a variety of community services under grants and contracts with the federal and state government, foundations, and corporations. We have a staff of ten employees and various contractors and vendors and operate with an annual budget of about $1.2 million.
The Institute is a lean-management, entrepreneurial organization that supports emerging communities and businesses through direct service.
The Institute's Boston office focuses on providing training and technical assistance to Hispanic owned and operated businesses to help them succeed in their chosen field and operate as healthy workplaces. We are currently seeking a bilingual (Spanish/English) enterprise development manager with training in public and/or business administration who can directly serve our small business clients in the North Shore and elsewhere in MA. This Boston-area based enterprise manager must have excellent written and verbal communications skills in English and Spanish, and demonstrate the ability to interact with foundation, corporate, and government decision makers. This leader would work 50%+ of the time on-site at our East Boston office and report to the Executive Vice President. The candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree or higher, 5+ years of management experience, a driver's license, and be able to travel throughout the service area. This contract position pays $30/hour for 20 hours per week. Based on performance the position can lead to extended employment.
