Seattle Children’s Hospital and Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center are pleased to partner with the Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Washington to invite applications for a faculty position in Congenital Cardiac Surgery. The faculty position is within the University’s Clinical – Salaried track at the ranks of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor with an anticipated start date of October 2026. We seek applicants who demonstrate a commitment to providing world-class family-centered pediatric cardiac surgical care for the Inland Northwest community.
The base salary range for this position will be: Clinical Assistant Professor, $54,167 - $70,834 per month ($650,004 - $850,008 per year), Clinical Associate Professor, $70,834-$87,500 per month ($850,008 - $1,050,000 per year), Clinical Professor $75,000 - $125,000 ($900,000 - $1,500,000 per year), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
The successful candidate will be expected to provide the full spectrum of cardiac surgical care for pediatric patients, including neonatal surgery, and call coverage. The primary site of practice for this position is Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, WA, and may participate in surgical care and coverage at Seattle Children’s Hospital in Seattle, WA. This position will actively participate in quality assessment and quality improvement programs at both institutions. Additional responsibilities include engagement in the selection and training of residents and fellows.
All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.
Qualifications
Applicants for this position must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- MD degree (or foreign equivalent)
- Board eligibility (or foreign equivalent) by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, inclusive of completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE)
- Eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington
- Applicants must hold U.S. permanent residence or U.S. citizenship
