Clinical Research Scientist Jobs in Chicago: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a clinical research scientist job in Chicago?
The strongest path into Chicago's clinical research scientist market runs through the Illinois Medical District, Streeterville's academic medical centers, and the biopharma corridor along the North Shore. Candidates who combine hands-on trial experience with regulatory affairs knowledge stand out here. Targeting contract research organizations downtown and the research hospitals affiliated with Northwestern or Rush gives you the broadest range of active openings in the city.
Which companies hire clinical research scientists in Chicago?
Companies currently hiring clinical research scientists in Chicago include TransUnion, SentiLink, and 84.51˚, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Chicago's hiring mix leans heavily toward academic medical systems, mid-size biopharma firms, and global contract research organizations with regional offices in the Loop and Near North Side.
Are there remote clinical research scientist jobs in Chicago?
Yes, though with limits: hands-on roles tied to clinical sites, biospecimen handling, or patient monitoring are almost always on-site, while data management, regulatory writing, and biostatistics functions are the most remote-compatible. Protocol-facing CRO roles in Chicago still skew strongly on-site.
How can I get a clinical research scientist job in Chicago with little or no experience?
