The Supervisor Clinical Performance and Business Analytics delivers data-driven insights and analytic support to departmental leadership to improve performance across clinical, operational, and academic areas. Designs and executes complex analyses, develop performance reporting and projections, and support business planning and research initiatives. This role requires a strong understanding of healthcare data and operations, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently while ensuring accuracy, clarity, and actionable results.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, Health Administration, Public Health, Data Science, or related field
2. Five (5) years of progressive experience in healthcare/business analytics, operational performance, finance, research administration support, or related environment
3. Two (2) years of lead or supervisory experience managing priorities, quality review, and stakeholder delivery
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, MPH, MS Analytics/Data Science, or related)
2. Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI/Tableau or comparable) and/or EHR reporting
3. Experience with HIPAA, data governance, and research-related data controls
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Operations Analytics and Performance Management
1. Develop and maintain internal department reporting
2. Work with the Business Analyst to develop analytic methods, documentation standards, and tool proficiency, while ensuring deliverables meet departmental requirements for accuracy, clarity, and timeliness.
3. Support performance improvement initiatives through workflow measurement, root-cause analysis, and post-implementation evaluation of results (e.g., access, throughput, scheduling efficiency, utilization).
4. Create and maintain databases to assure accurate, timely analyses for operational needs.
5. Standardize monthly report packages and build presentation-ready summaries for department leadership.
Research Analytics and Grant Support Analytics
6. Build and maintain research performance reporting (e.g., study pipeline, enrollment metrics, publication/abstract tracking, clinical trial activity, scholarly output tracking, and other research indicators).
7. Build analysis-ready datasets for faculty
8. Support outcomes, infection, PROs, and translational research
9. Generate preliminary data for NIH, DOD, foundation grants
10. Co-author abstracts and manuscripts
11. Create reproducible analytics pipelines
12. Partner with Principal Investigators (PIs) and clinical researchers to assess study feasibility, develop data extraction and analysis plans, and deliver reproducible, well-documented analytic outputs.
Athletic & Performance Analytics Translation
13. Serve as analytics liaison with Athletics (as approved)
14. Translate injury prevention, load, and performance models into:
- Sports medicine
- Rehab protocols
- Return-to-play frameworks
- Others
Departmental Performance
15. Supervise Business or Data Analyst(s)
16. Elevate institutional profile through innovation

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Ability to translate strategic and operational questions into analytic scopes, including methods, assumptions, limitations, and interpretation
2. Strong command of healthcare business fundamentals (budget/variance concepts, revenue and expense drivers, access/throughput measures, operational performance management)
3. Advanced proficiency in Excel and comfort working across multiple data sources
4. Proficiency in analytic tools such as SQL, R, Python, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent platforms
5. Ability to develop and maintain dashboards and reporting packages and present results in executive-ready formats
6. Ability to support research analytics infrastructure
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills
8. High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity and confidentiality
