Summary
The Infrastructure Cloud Engineer will report into the Manager, Server, Cloud, Network, and Voice to support the Azure cloud environment at Rogers. This role is critical to the success of the cloud environment and will be responsible to ensure a stable and functional environment while overseeing any changes, expansions, and access to the environment.
Essential Functions:
- Design and deploy Azure-based infrastructure, including virtual networks, compute resources, storage, and identity services.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like ARM templates or Terraform.
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot Azure resources to ensure high availability and performance.
- Manage Azure Active Directory, EntraID, role-based access control (RBAC), and identity governance.
- Implement and maintain Microsoft server framework (on prem and virtual).
- Perform VMware administration tasks (stand alone and vCenter).
- Maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
- Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Ansible, or Python and develop and maintain operational runbooks and automation workflows.
- Implement cloud security best practices, including network security groups, firewalls, encryption, and policy enforcement.
- Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Work closely with development, security, and infrastructure teams to support cloud-native and hybrid applications and provide technical guidance and documentation for internal teams.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree. May consider equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
- 4+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure services (Compute, Networking, Storage, Azure AD, Monitor, Key Vault, etc.).
- Proficiency with PowerShell, Azure CLI, or other scripting languages.
- Hands-on experience with IaC tools (Terraform, ARM).
- Understanding of networking concepts (DNS, VPN, load balancing, firewalls).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ‑104), Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ‑305), and DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ‑400).
- VCP (VMware Certified Professional).
