Verify Your Nursing License Transfers to Louisiana
Acadian Ambulance operates primarily in Louisiana and surrounding states. Before applying, confirm your RN or LPN license is valid or transferable through the Nurse Licensure Compact, since school nurse roles require active state licensure at hire.
Target School Nurse Postings Directly on Their Portal
Acadian posts School Nurse openings through its own careers portal, often tied to specific district contracts. Search by role title rather than department, since school health positions sit outside their standard EMS and clinical hiring tracks.
Clarify TN Eligibility Before Your Interview
Canadian and Mexican nurses qualify for TN status under the USMCA's professional category list. Confirm with the hiring team early that the School Nurse role is classified as a registered nurse position, since the TN category requires that specific occupational designation from DOL.
Ask Specifically About E-3 Processing in the Offer Stage
E-3 sponsorship requires a certified Labor Condition Application from DOL before your consular appointment. When Acadian extends an offer, ask whether their HR team handles LCA filing internally or routes it through outside counsel, so you know the realistic timeline before your start date.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Active School Nurse Openings
School Nurse vacancies at Acadian can open and close quickly as district contracts shift. Use Migrate Mate to filter for current openings at Acadian that are flagged for visa sponsorship, so you're applying to live roles rather than outdated listings.
Prepare CPR Certification and School Health Documentation Early
School nurse positions at healthcare service companies like Acadian typically require current CPR certification and, in some states, a separate school nurse credential or endorsement on top of your RN license. Have both ready before the background check stage to avoid delays in your start date.

Does Acadian Ambulance Service sponsor H-1B visas for School Nurses?
Acadian Ambulance Service's primary sponsorship pathways for School Nurses are the E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT categories rather than the H-1B. If you're currently on H-1B status and considering a transfer, discuss this directly with Acadian's HR team during the offer stage, since their sponsorship capacity varies by role and location.
How do I apply for School Nurse jobs at Acadian Ambulance Service?
Applications are submitted through Acadian Ambulance Service's official careers portal. Search for School Nurse openings by job title and filter by state, since Acadian operates across Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, and several other southeastern states. You can also browse current visa-sponsored openings at Acadian through Migrate Mate, which surfaces active listings flagged for sponsorship eligibility.
Which visa types does Acadian Ambulance Service commonly sponsor for School Nurse roles?
Acadian has sponsored School Nurses under the E-3 visa for Australian citizens, the TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT and CPT for eligible students and recent graduates. Each pathway has different documentation requirements, so clarify which category applies to your situation before you reach the offer stage.
What qualifications does Acadian Ambulance Service expect for School Nurse positions?
Acadian typically requires an active registered nurse or licensed practical nurse license valid in the state of assignment. Many school nurse roles also expect current CPR certification, pediatric care experience, and in some states a separate school nurse endorsement. Candidates applying on F-1 OPT should confirm their work authorization end date aligns with the contract period.
How do I know how long the sponsorship process will take for a School Nurse role at Acadian?
Timeline depends on the visa category. TN status can be processed at the port of entry in a single day for Canadians or via consulate for Mexican nationals. E-3 requires a certified LCA from DOL before your consular appointment, which typically adds two to four weeks. F-1 OPT authorization is handled through your university's DSO before you apply, so start that process at least 90 days before your intended start date.
