Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding School Nurse Jobs at Mass General Brigham Jobs
Verify Your State Nursing License First
Massachusetts requires an active RN license before Mass General Brigham can move forward with an H-1B petition. Start the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing endorsement process early, as delays here directly stall your petition timeline.
Target School-Based and Ambulatory Roles Separately
Mass General Brigham posts School Nurse openings across both hospital-affiliated school health programs and community clinic sites. Filtering by department rather than just job title surfaces openings that broader searches miss, especially in pediatric and student health divisions.
Confirm the Role Qualifies as a Specialty Occupation
USCIS scrutinizes nursing petitions closely. School Nurse roles at Mass General Brigham that require a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a specialized clinical focus are stronger H-1B candidates than general bedside nursing positions, so review the job description carefully before applying.
Ask HR About LCA Filing During the Offer Stage
Before accepting an offer, ask Mass General Brigham's immigration team when they plan to file the Labor Condition Application with the DOL. The LCA must be certified before USCIS can receive the I-129 petition, and understanding that timeline helps you plan your start date.
Browse Verified Sponsoring Employers on Migrate Mate
Search Migrate Mate to find School Nurse openings at Mass General Brigham filtered by visa type. This saves time you'd otherwise spend cold-applying to roles where sponsorship is unclear or unavailable.
Prepare a Credential Evaluation Before Interviews
If your nursing degree is from outside the United States, obtain a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved agency before your first interview. Mass General Brigham's credentialing process requires this documentation, and having it ready signals you understand the hiring requirements.

Find School Nurse at Mass General Brigham JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Mass General Brigham sponsor H-1B visas for School Nurses?
Yes, Mass General Brigham sponsors H-1B visas for School Nurse roles. As a large academic health system, it has an established immigration and HR infrastructure that handles nonimmigrant petitions regularly. Sponsorship is most consistent for roles requiring a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a defined clinical specialty, which aligns with USCIS specialty occupation standards for nursing positions.
How do I apply for School Nurse jobs at Mass General Brigham?
Applications go through the Mass General Brigham careers portal. You can also browse verified School Nurse openings with confirmed visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate, which filters roles by employer and visa type so you know sponsorship is on the table before you apply. Have your Massachusetts RN license number, credential evaluation, and resume tailored to the specific department ready when you submit.
Which visa types does Mass General Brigham use for School Nurse roles?
H-1B is the primary visa category used for School Nurse positions at Mass General Brigham. This category requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, typically supported by a BSN and a specialized clinical focus. TN status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals with qualifying nursing credentials, and Green Card sponsorship through employment-based categories is possible after an extended employment period.
What qualifications does Mass General Brigham expect for School Nurse candidates?
Most School Nurse postings at Mass General Brigham require an active Massachusetts RN license, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and prior experience in pediatric, school health, or ambulatory care settings. Specialty certifications such as the National Certified School Nurse credential strengthen your application. For international graduates, a NACES-approved credential evaluation confirming degree equivalency to a U.S. BSN is required before credentialing can be completed.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take at Mass General Brigham?
From offer acceptance to an approved H-1B petition, the process typically runs four to six months under standard USCIS processing, or two to three weeks with premium processing. Mass General Brigham must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL first, which takes seven to ten business days when certified. Cap-subject petitions can only be filed once per year, so timing your offer relative to the April filing window matters significantly.
