Job Roles at Mass General Brigham Companies
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Mass General Brigham Visa Sponsorship USA
Target roles that align with H-1B specialty occupation requirements
Mass General Brigham sponsors H-1B visas for roles requiring specialized degrees, think physicians, researchers, data scientists, and allied health professionals. Focus your applications on positions where a specific bachelor's or advanced degree is listed as required, not preferred.
Look beyond clinical roles into research and administrative functions
As a major academic medical system, Mass General Brigham hires across research operations, biomedical informatics, health policy, and clinical administration, all areas with documented H-1B sponsorship. Don't limit your search to direct patient care positions if your background spans adjacent healthcare fields.
Apply early in the hiring cycle to leave room for H-1B cap processing
Healthcare systems with strong sponsorship track records like Mass General Brigham often plan hires around the H-1B cap filing window in April. Connecting with their talent team before January gives both parties time to prepare an employer petition without last-minute pressure.
Understand that sponsorship decisions often sit with HR and department leads jointly
At large health systems, visa sponsorship approval typically requires sign-off from both the hiring department and HR legal or immigration counsel. Addressing your work authorization needs clearly in early conversations, before offer stage, reduces the risk of late-stage complications.
Use Migrate Mate to filter for verified Mass General Brigham openings
Not every job posting signals genuine sponsorship willingness. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus on Mass General Brigham roles where international candidates have a demonstrated path to visa support.
Leverage the Harvard affiliation angle when networking into the system
Mass General Brigham's deep ties to Harvard Medical School mean many hiring managers value academic credentials and research backgrounds. If your degree or prior work connects to Harvard-affiliated institutions, leading with that connection can meaningfully strengthen your candidacy for sponsored roles.

Does Mass General Brigham sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Mass General Brigham sponsors H-1B visas and has done so consistently across multiple years. The system sponsors internationally trained professionals in clinical, research, and technical roles that qualify as specialty occupations. It is considered an active H-1B sponsor within the healthcare sector, making it a realistic target for candidates who require work visa support.
Which departments or roles at Mass General Brigham are most likely to be sponsored?
Sponsorship at Mass General Brigham is most common in roles requiring highly specialized education, physicians and surgeons, clinical research coordinators, biomedical scientists, data analysts, and healthcare IT professionals. Academic and research departments affiliated with Harvard Medical School also represent strong sponsorship territory, particularly for candidates with graduate-level credentials in biomedical or life sciences fields.
What visa types does Mass General Brigham sponsor?
Mass General Brigham's primary sponsored visa type is the H-1B, which covers specialty occupation workers. Candidates on OPT or STEM OPT are often a strong fit since they can begin work before an H-1B is filed. The system does not have a documented track record of E-3 or Green Card sponsorship, so H-1B is the most relevant pathway for international applicants to plan around.
How do I apply to Mass General Brigham if I need visa sponsorship?
Start by identifying roles on Migrate Mate where Mass General Brigham has a verified sponsorship history, so you're applying to positions with a real precedent for international hires. When you apply, disclose your visa status early, ideally in your cover letter. Given H-1B cap timing, aim to have conversations with their recruiting team no later than early Q1 of the calendar year you want to start.
How do I know if a specific Mass General Brigham job posting will lead to H-1B sponsorship?
Job postings rarely make explicit sponsorship commitments, which makes it hard to judge from the listing alone. The most reliable signal is whether Mass General Brigham has sponsored similar roles in the past, which you can assess through Migrate Mate's sponsorship data. During the interview process, ask directly whether the role is eligible for H-1B sponsorship and who handles immigration filings internally.
