Target School Health Openings Within Pediatric Divisions
Baptist Health's School Nurse postings frequently sit under its Children's Hospital or community health divisions. Search those departments specifically rather than the general nursing board, where school-based roles can get buried under acute care listings.
Confirm Employer LCA Filing Before Accepting an Offer
Before signing anything, ask HR whether they've initiated the Labor Condition Application with DOL for your specific role and worksite. School Nurse positions tied to off-campus school locations require site-specific LCA coverage, which some employers overlook.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Sponsored School Nurse Roles
Filter by visa type and healthcare employer on Migrate Mate to identify School Nurse openings at Baptist Health South Florida where sponsorship is explicitly supported, so you're not wasting applications on roles that won't advance your immigration case.
Align Your Clinical Experience to Pediatric Populations
Baptist Health's School Nurse roles prioritize candidates with hands-on pediatric or community health experience. Frame your resume around age-appropriate assessment, chronic condition management in school settings, and emergency response, since those directly match the job's scope of practice.
Understand Cap Timing If You're on F-1 OPT
If Baptist Health is filing an H-1B cap petition on your behalf, the April 1 filing window and October 1 start date mean your OPT authorization must bridge the gap. Confirm your OPT expiration date against that calendar before your offer letter is finalized.

Find School Nurse at Baptist Health South Florida JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Baptist Health South Florida sponsor H-1B visas for School Nurses?
Yes, Baptist Health South Florida sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying nursing roles, including School Nurses. The role must meet the specialty occupation threshold under USCIS standards, which typically requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at minimum. Because School Nurse positions involve pediatric assessment and chronic condition management, they generally satisfy that requirement. Confirm sponsorship intent directly with HR during the offer stage.
How do I apply for School Nurse jobs at Baptist Health South Florida?
Applications go through Baptist Health South Florida's careers portal, where School Nurse openings are listed under nursing or community health categories. You can also browse sponsored openings specifically on Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa type so you can confirm sponsorship availability before applying. Have your Florida RN license, current resume, and any visa documentation ready before submitting, since healthcare applications move quickly.
Which visa types are commonly used for School Nurse roles at Baptist Health South Florida?
Baptist Health South Florida supports several pathways for School Nurses, including H-1B for specialty occupation workers, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nurses qualifying under USMCA professional categories, and F-1 OPT or CPT for nursing graduates completing clinical training. For permanent residence, EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories are also used, with EB-3 being the most common pathway for registered nurses pursuing a Green Card through employer sponsorship.
What qualifications does Baptist Health South Florida expect for School Nurse candidates?
A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is the standard minimum, along with an active Florida RN license. Pediatric clinical experience is strongly preferred, and many School Nurse postings specify familiarity with chronic condition protocols, immunization administration, and emergency response in non-acute settings. BLS certification is required. Candidates with experience in school health programs, community health clinics, or children's hospital environments are competitively positioned for these roles.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a School Nurse at Baptist Health South Florida?
Timeline depends on your visa category. For H-1B, the cap petition window opens April 1 each year for an October 1 start, so the process can take six months or more from offer to work authorization. TN visas for eligible nationals can be processed at the port of entry with significantly shorter timelines. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship under EB-3 typically takes one to three years or longer depending on your country of birth and current visa priority dates.
