Credential Your Clinical Training Before Applying
Baptist Health prioritizes Healthcare Assistants with documented hands-on clinical hours. Have your transcripts, clinical practicum records, and any state-recognized certifications like a Certified Nursing Assistant credential organized and ready before submitting your application.
Target Roles Across Multiple Campuses
Baptist Health operates hospitals, urgent care centers, and outpatient clinics across South Florida. Healthcare Assistant openings vary by campus, so search by location as well as title to find the widest set of sponsorship-eligible postings available to you.
Verify Your OPT Timeline Against Interview Cycles
Healthcare hiring at Baptist Health moves through HR screening, clinical skills assessments, and department interviews. If you're on F-1 OPT, map your remaining authorization window against that timeline so your start date falls well within your valid work period.
Confirm TN Eligibility for Your Specific Job Title
TN status requires your role to match a USMCA-listed occupation category. Not all Healthcare Assistant titles qualify, so verify with USCIS guidance that your specific duties and job description support a TN classification before accepting an offer.
Ask About PERM Timelines During Offer Negotiations
If you're targeting an EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card path, ask HR directly whether they initiate PERM labor certification for this role. The DOL PERM process can take a year or more, so understanding when Baptist Health typically starts that process matters for your long-term planning.
Find Open Roles Through Migrate Mate

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Baptist Health South Florida sponsor H-1B visas for Healthcare Assistants?
Yes, Baptist Health South Florida sponsors H-1B visas for Healthcare Assistant roles. Because the H-1B requires a specialty occupation, your specific duties and educational background need to support that classification. Roles involving clinical coordination or specialized patient care functions are more likely to qualify than general support positions. Confirm the exact title and duties with the hiring team before assuming H-1B eligibility.
How do I apply for Healthcare Assistant jobs at Baptist Health South Florida?
Applications go through Baptist Health's careers portal, where you can search by role and location. To target sponsorship-eligible openings specifically, use Migrate Mate to browse current Healthcare Assistant postings at Baptist Health before applying directly. Have your resume, clinical certifications, and any proof of work authorization ready, since healthcare roles often move through screening quickly once a posting goes live.
Which visa types are commonly used for Healthcare Assistant roles at Baptist Health South Florida?
Baptist Health supports several visa pathways for Healthcare Assistants. F-1 OPT and CPT are common entry points for recent graduates completing clinical programs. TN visa status works for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals whose duties align with a qualifying USMCA occupation. For longer-term paths, H-1B and employer-sponsored EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card petitions are both options Baptist Health has pursued for this function.
What qualifications and experience does Baptist Health South Florida expect for Healthcare Assistant roles?
Baptist Health typically looks for candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent plus documented clinical training, often through a Certified Nursing Assistant program or an accredited allied health curriculum. Prior hands-on experience in a hospital or outpatient setting strengthens your application significantly. Bilingual ability, particularly Spanish, is valued given the patient population across South Florida campuses. CPR certification is generally required before your start date.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Healthcare Assistant position at Baptist Health South Florida?
Timeline depends on the visa type. F-1 OPT authorization can begin close to your start date if your I-20 and EAD are already in order. H-1B petitions follow USCIS's annual April filing window, with an October 1 start date, so timing your offer around that cycle matters. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM can take two years or more from initiation to approval, depending on your country of birth and DOL processing backlogs.
