Verify Your Clinical Credentials Before Applying
Boston Medical Center's clinical roles require state-verified credentials. Confirm your certifications, like a Certified Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician credential, are Massachusetts-recognized before submitting applications, since credential gaps stall sponsorship timelines significantly.
Target BMC's Safety-Net Hiring Priorities
Boston Medical Center prioritizes bilingual candidates for patient-facing roles given its multilingual patient population. If you speak Spanish, Haitian Creole, Cape Verdean Creole, or another community language, make that prominent in your application materials and interview conversations.
Understand How H-1B Applies to Healthcare Assistants
Healthcare Assistant roles must qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS rules, which means your job duties and your degree field need to align specifically. Clinical support roles tied to a health sciences, nursing, or allied health bachelor's degree are the strongest fit for H-1B petitions.
Ask About Sponsorship Timing During Offer Negotiations
Boston Medical Center files H-1B petitions through the annual USCIS lottery, so your start date depends on the October 1 cap-subject timeline. Raise sponsorship needs early in the offer stage so HR can align your onboarding to the filing calendar without delays.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Healthcare Assistant Roles
Search for Healthcare Assistant openings at Boston Medical Center directly on Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for visa-sponsoring employers. This saves time you'd otherwise spend screening job boards that list roles without confirming sponsorship eligibility.
Build a PERM-Ready Employment History Early
If your goal is a Green Card through EB-2 or EB-3, document your clinical work history with official employment verification letters from each employer. PERM labor certification requires precise employment records, and gaps or informal documentation slow the DOL review process considerably.

Find Healthcare Assistant at Boston Medical Center JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Boston Medical Center sponsor H-1B visas for Healthcare Assistants?
Yes, Boston Medical Center sponsors H-1B visas for Healthcare Assistant roles where the position qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS guidelines. The role generally needs to require a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific clinical or health sciences field. You should confirm the specific job's educational requirements with the recruiter during the application process, since not every Healthcare Assistant title automatically meets the specialty occupation threshold.
How do I apply for Healthcare Assistant jobs at Boston Medical Center?
You can browse and apply for Healthcare Assistant positions at Boston Medical Center through Migrate Mate, which lists open roles and filters for visa sponsorship eligibility. When you apply, clearly indicate your visa sponsorship needs in your application. Boston Medical Center's HR team handles sponsorship coordination internally, so once you receive an offer, your assigned recruiter will walk you through the I-129 petition process and filing timelines.
Which visa types does Boston Medical Center commonly use for Healthcare Assistants?
Boston Medical Center most commonly uses the H-1B visa for Healthcare Assistants who hold qualifying clinical degrees. For candidates pursuing permanent residency, the hospital also supports employment-based Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3 preference categories, which involve PERM labor certification through the DOL. The right pathway depends on your degree level, the specific role's requirements, and where you are in your immigration journey.
What qualifications does Boston Medical Center expect for Healthcare Assistant roles?
Boston Medical Center typically expects a relevant clinical credential such as a Certified Nursing Assistant certification, a Patient Care Technician qualification, or a bachelor's degree in a health sciences field for roles being considered for H-1B sponsorship. Hands-on patient care experience in an acute care or hospital setting is a strong differentiator. Bilingual skills are a practical advantage given the hospital's diverse patient population across Boston's South End and surrounding neighborhoods.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Healthcare Assistant role at Boston Medical Center?
If your role is subject to the H-1B cap, Boston Medical Center will need to file your petition in the March lottery window for an October 1 start date, meaning you should have your offer and sponsorship confirmed by February at the latest. Premium processing through USCIS can reduce petition adjudication to 15 business days after selection, but the cap timeline itself cannot be expedited. Cap-exempt situations, such as transferring from another H-1B employer, allow year-round filing.
