Verify Your Credentials Before Applying
Florida requires RN licensure through the Florida Board of Nursing, and international nursing graduates must have their credentials evaluated through a CGFNS-approved service. Start this process early since credential review and NCLEX scheduling can take several months.
Target Baptist Health's High-Volume Specialties
Baptist Health South Florida consistently posts Clinical Nurse openings in critical care, emergency, and med-surg units across its Miami-area campuses. Focusing your application on these units improves your odds of landing a role with a sponsoring team.
Understand Which Visa Category Fits Your Timeline
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your OPT expiration date before your first interview. Baptist Health sponsors both H-1B and TN visas, so knowing which category matches your nationality and timeline lets you have a concrete conversation with their HR team.
Browse Open Roles Through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Baptist Health South Florida's current Clinical Nurse openings by visa type. This helps you identify which specific postings are tied to active sponsorship pipelines rather than sifting through the full careers portal manually.
Prepare for Licensure Delays in Your Offer Negotiation
Florida's Board of Nursing can take eight to twelve weeks to process international applicants. If your start date depends on licensure clearance, address this timeline with your recruiter before signing an offer so your H-1B filing isn't rushed or misfiled.

Does Baptist Health South Florida sponsor H-1B visas for Clinical Nurses?
Yes, Baptist Health South Florida sponsors H-1B visas for Clinical Nurse roles. As a large healthcare employer, it works with immigration counsel to file H-1B petitions on behalf of qualifying nurses. If you're subject to the annual H-1B cap, your employer must register you in the USCIS lottery each March for an October 1 start date.
Which visa types are commonly used for Clinical Nurse roles at Baptist Health South Florida?
Baptist Health South Florida supports H-1B, TN (for Canadian and Mexican nurses), F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card sponsorship. For nurses from countries with long EB-3 backlogs, the TN or H-1B is typically the practical starting point while a PERM-based Green Card application moves forward in parallel.
How do I apply for Clinical Nurse jobs at Baptist Health South Florida?
You can browse and apply for Clinical Nurse positions directly through Baptist Health South Florida's careers portal, or use Migrate Mate to filter for their open roles by visa sponsorship type. When applying, tailor your resume to the specific unit and patient population listed in the job description, and include your current visa status and authorization timeline upfront.
What qualifications and experience are expected for Clinical Nurse roles at Baptist Health South Florida?
Baptist Health South Florida typically requires an Associate Degree in Nursing at minimum, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred, plus an active Florida RN license or eligibility. International graduates need a CGFNS credential evaluation and NCLEX passage. Prior acute care experience in a U.S. or comparable clinical setting is expected for most specialty unit postings.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Clinical Nurse at Baptist Health South Florida?
For H-1B, the standard USCIS processing window runs three to six months after the October 1 cap year opens, though premium processing can reduce that to around fifteen business days. For EB-3 Green Card sponsorship via PERM, the full process from labor market test to Green Card approval routinely takes two to four years depending on your country of birth and current visa priority dates.
