Tailor your HR credentials to Airbnb's structure
Airbnb's People team is organized around HR business partnering, talent acquisition, and people operations. Align your resume to these tracks specifically, not generic HR generalist framing, so recruiters can immediately map your background to an open function.
Verify your visa type matches the role level
Airbnb sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT for HR roles, but eligibility depends on your nationality and degree field. Confirm your visa category supports a specialty occupation in Human Resources before applying, since USCIS scrutinizes HR roles more than technical functions.
Surface your sponsorship needs early in interviews
HR hiring teams at Airbnb coordinate closely with their own immigration team. Disclosing your visa status in the first recruiter screen, not after an offer, lets them loop in legal early and avoids late-stage complications that can kill an otherwise strong offer.
Track Airbnb's HR job postings on Migrate Mate
Search Migrate Mate to filter Airbnb Human Resources openings by visa type. This lets you target roles where sponsorship is confirmed rather than spending time on postings that exclude international candidates.
Document your degree's connection to the HR specialty
For H-1B specialty occupation approval, USCIS expects a direct relationship between your degree field and the HR role. A degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Human Resources Management, or Business Administration with an HR concentration is significantly stronger than a general business degree.
Understand OPT timing before your Airbnb start date
If you're on F-1 OPT, your 12-month authorization window starts on the date USCIS approves your EAD, not your first day at Airbnb. Coordinate your offer acceptance and start date so your OPT period doesn't erode before an H-1B cap-subject petition can be filed.

Find Human Resources at Airbnb JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Airbnb sponsor H-1B visas for Human Resources?
Yes, Airbnb sponsors H-1B visas for Human Resources roles. The key requirement is that the position qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, meaning the role normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field like Human Resources Management, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, or a directly related discipline. Roles with generic educational requirements can face additional USCIS scrutiny, so your application is stronger when the degree field and job duties align clearly.
How do I apply for Human Resources jobs at Airbnb?
Apply directly through Airbnb's careers site or browse verified sponsorship-confirmed openings on Migrate Mate, which filters Airbnb Human Resources roles by visa type. Before applying, tailor your resume to Airbnb's People team structure, which includes HR business partnering, talent acquisition, and people operations tracks. Disclose your visa sponsorship needs during the initial recruiter screen so Airbnb's immigration team can be engaged from the start.
Which visa types does Airbnb commonly use for Human Resources roles?
Airbnb sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, EB-2, EB-3, and F-1 OPT for Human Resources positions. E-3 is available to Australian citizens only and bypasses the H-1B lottery. TN applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying HR-related categories. F-1 OPT is typically the entry point for recent graduates, with H-1B sponsorship following if the cap-subject lottery is successful.
What qualifications does Airbnb expect for sponsored Human Resources roles?
Airbnb typically looks for HR professionals with a bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a related field. For senior HR business partner or people operations roles, several years of progressive HR experience in a technology or global consumer business environment strengthens your candidacy. Familiarity with large-scale HRIS systems, data-driven people analytics, and cross-functional stakeholder management is consistently valued across Airbnb's HR openings.
How do I time my application if my visa status has a deadline?
If you're on F-1 OPT, the H-1B cap-subject petition must be filed by early April for an October 1 start, which means your offer needs to be in place well before that window. For candidates in a 60-day grace period between jobs, the clock starts from your last day of employment, not your last paycheck. Engage Airbnb's recruiting team as early as possible so their immigration counsel can assess your timeline before you run out of authorized status.
