Target roles at the intersection of tech and hospitality
Airbnb's sponsorship activity is concentrated in roles that blend technical expertise with its platform-driven business, think product, engineering, data, and design. Positioning yourself at that intersection improves your chances of landing a sponsored role.
Understand which visa types Airbnb actively files
Airbnb sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and Green Card pathways, as well as F-1 OPT. Knowing which category fits your background before applying helps you frame your eligibility clearly in outreach and during recruiter screens.
Apply during Airbnb's main hiring cycles
Like most technology-adjacent hospitality companies, Airbnb tends to ramp hiring in Q1 and Q3. Timing your application to align with these windows gives you the best shot at roles where sponsorship budgets are actively allocated.
Highlight cross-functional impact in your application materials
Airbnb values candidates who can operate across product, community, and operations. Demonstrating measurable impact across functions, not just within a single team, signals the kind of versatility that justifies sponsorship investment for competitive roles.
Use Migrate Mate to verify Airbnb's open sponsored roles
Sponsorship policies change, and not every open role is eligible. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and focus only on Airbnb positions where international applicants have a genuine path forward.
Leverage Airbnb's global culture as a conversation asset
Airbnb's business is inherently international, hosts, guests, and teams span the globe. In interviews, connecting your international background to their core mission of belonging is a natural, credible way to reinforce why sponsorship makes strategic sense.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Airbnb sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Airbnb sponsors H-1B visas and has done so consistently across multiple hiring cycles. Sponsorship is most common in technical and product roles, though it extends to other specialized functions. Airbnb is considered an active H-1B sponsor relative to others in the hospitality and technology sector, making it a worthwhile target for international candidates in qualifying specialty occupations.
Which visa types does Airbnb sponsor?
Airbnb sponsors a range of visa categories including H-1B, E-3 visa (for Australian citizens), TN visa (for Canadian and Mexican nationals), F-1 OPT, and employment-based Green Cards at the EB-2 and EB-3 levels. The mix of visa types reflects a hiring strategy that accommodates international talent across multiple nationalities and career stages, from recent graduates to senior specialists.
Which departments or roles at Airbnb are most likely to offer visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Airbnb is most concentrated in engineering, product management, data science, and design, roles that require specialized degree-level qualifications and are harder to fill domestically. Operations, finance, and policy roles have also seen sponsorship activity. Roles framed around Airbnb's platform infrastructure or global expansion tend to have the strongest case for sponsorship internally.
How do I find Airbnb jobs that offer visa sponsorship?
The most reliable approach is to filter specifically for verified sponsors rather than assuming all open roles qualify. Migrate Mate lets you browse Airbnb's current openings with sponsorship history already verified, so you're not spending time on applications where international candidates won't be considered. Applying through a targeted, sponsorship-confirmed list significantly improves your odds.
How do I approach Airbnb's hiring process as an international applicant?
Raise your visa status early, ideally in the initial recruiter screen, so there are no surprises later. Airbnb's recruiters are experienced with international hiring, particularly for H-1B and OPT candidates. Come prepared to articulate your authorization timeline clearly, especially if you're on OPT with a cap-gap or approaching an H-1B lottery window, since timing affects the hiring decision.
