Frequently Asked Questions
Does AltaMed Health Services sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, AltaMed Health Services sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles. Sponsorship is most common in specialty occupation positions within clinical and healthcare services. Because sponsorship decisions are made on a role-by-role basis, it's worth confirming with their HR team that the specific position you're applying for is eligible before moving through the full interview process.
What visa types does AltaMed Health Services sponsor?
AltaMed sponsors a range of visa types including H-1B, TN visa, J-1 visa, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT, as well as Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3 classifications. This breadth makes AltaMed a realistic option for international candidates at different stages of their immigration journey, from recent graduates on OPT to professionals seeking permanent residency.
Which roles at AltaMed Health Services are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at AltaMed is most common in specialized clinical roles where qualified candidates are in limited supply, such as physicians, nurse practitioners, and other licensed healthcare professionals. Administrative and operational roles may also qualify depending on their specialty requirements, but clinical positions have historically driven the bulk of AltaMed's sponsorship activity.
How do I apply for a sponsored position at AltaMed Health Services?
Start by identifying open roles that match your qualifications and visa type on AltaMed's careers page. Migrate Mate also lists verified AltaMed openings, letting you filter specifically for visa-sponsoring employers. Once you've identified a suitable role, reach out to the hiring team early to confirm sponsorship availability, then proceed with a tailored application that highlights your clinical expertise and cultural alignment with AltaMed's community health mission.
Does AltaMed Health Services sponsor Green Cards?
Yes, AltaMed has sponsored permanent residency through both EB-2 and EB-3 classifications. Green Card sponsorship in healthcare typically requires you to have already demonstrated value to the organization, often after working on a temporary visa such as H-1B or J-1. Discussing long-term sponsorship intentions early in the hiring process is advisable so both sides can plan accordingly.
