Target research and clinical roles first
MSK's strongest sponsorship activity is concentrated in clinical medicine, oncology research, and biomedical sciences. If your background aligns with these areas, you're applying to the part of the organization where international hiring is most established and expected.
Understand which visa fits your situation
MSK sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, J-1, and Green Card pathways. Australian citizens should specifically explore the E-3 route, which MSK has used. Knowing which visa applies to you before applying lets you ask informed questions during the hiring process.
Apply well before OPT or status deadlines
MSK's hiring process for clinical and research roles can be thorough. If you're on F-1 OPT or approaching a status deadline, start your application early enough to allow time for interviews, offer negotiations, and petition filing without pressure.
Highlight specialized credentials prominently
MSK sponsors roles requiring specialized expertise, particularly in oncology, pathology, genomics, and clinical research. Employers in highly specialized healthcare settings are more willing to sponsor when your credentials clearly match a role that's hard to fill domestically.
Use Migrate Mate to verify sponsorship before applying
Not every healthcare employer sponsors visas, but MSK is a verified active sponsor. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and find open MSK roles without guessing whether sponsorship is actually on the table.
Ask about Green Card sponsorship during negotiations
MSK has a track record of sponsoring permanent residence for long-term staff in research and clinical roles. If you're targeting a career-track position, it's reasonable to ask during the offer stage whether EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship is available for the role.
