Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Supply Chain Jobs at American Airlines Jobs
Align Your Credentials to Aviation Supply Chain
Airlines classify supply chain roles under NAICS codes tied to air transportation, which affects prevailing wage determinations filed with DOL. Frame your resume around aerospace procurement, MRO inventory, or logistics operations to match the job categories American Airlines files Labor Condition Applications under.
Target Roles With Degree-Specific Requirements
H-1B eligibility requires a specialty occupation tied to a specific degree field. American Airlines supply chain postings that require degrees in logistics, operations research, or industrial engineering have a cleaner sponsorship path than generalist roles where any bachelor's degree satisfies the requirement.
Apply Before the H-1B Registration Window Closes
USCIS opens H-1B registration in March each year. If you're targeting a full-time offer from American Airlines, time your application and interviews to allow your employer to register you before that window closes, since missing it means waiting another full year.
Leverage OPT or CPT to Build Internal Standing
American Airlines participates in campus recruiting and accepts F-1 OPT candidates in supply chain internship and full-time roles. Converting an OPT position into a sponsored role is a well-established path at large airlines, where managers advocate internally for high performers during the H-1B petition process.
Clarify Sponsorship Scope Before Signing an Offer
Some employers sponsor H-1B but do not commit to PERM-based Green Card sponsorship. Before accepting, confirm whether American Airlines will support EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship for your role, and ask about typical timelines from H-1B approval to PERM filing initiation.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Roles That Sponsor
Filtering supply chain roles by sponsorship type saves weeks of research. Use Migrate Mate to browse American Airlines openings already verified for visa sponsorship, so you're only applying to positions where your work authorization status won't disqualify you at the offer stage.

Find Supply Chain at American Airlines JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does American Airlines sponsor H-1B visas for Supply Chain roles?
Yes, American Airlines sponsors H-1B visas for supply chain positions that qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS guidelines. Roles in procurement, logistics planning, vendor management, and inventory analysis that require a relevant bachelor's degree or higher are typical candidates for H-1B sponsorship. Confirm with your recruiter that the specific role you're applying to has been sponsored before.
How do I apply for Supply Chain jobs at American Airlines?
Applications go through American Airlines' careers portal, where supply chain roles are listed under operations and corporate functions. You can also browse verified sponsorship-eligible openings on Migrate Mate, which filters for roles where American Airlines has a track record of supporting international candidates. Tailor your application to highlight aviation logistics, procurement, or MRO experience where relevant.
Which visa types does American Airlines commonly use for Supply Chain hires?
American Airlines sponsors H-1B visas for full-time supply chain professionals and supports F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates entering internship or entry-level roles. TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying supply chain positions. For longer-term sponsorship, American Airlines has a history of supporting EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for employees who advance through the organization.
What qualifications does American Airlines look for in Supply Chain candidates?
Most supply chain roles at American Airlines require a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, logistics, or a related field. Mid-level and senior positions typically expect several years of experience in procurement, vendor negotiations, or inventory systems, often within aviation, aerospace, or large-scale transportation operations. Familiarity with ERP systems and airline-specific MRO supply chains strengthens your candidacy significantly.
How do I time my application to avoid gaps in work authorization?
If you're on F-1 OPT, apply early enough that an H-1B petition can be filed before your OPT expires. USCIS allows H-1B petitions to be filed up to six months before the October 1 start date, and a timely filed petition extends your OPT authorization during the cap-gap period. If you're between jobs, the 60-day grace period for H-1B holders gives you a firm deadline to secure and document a new qualifying offer.
