Target roles at the intersection of fintech and technology
Blackhawk Network sits at the crossroads of financial services and technology. Engineering, data, and product roles are where sponsorship activity concentrates most, prioritize those functions when browsing open positions rather than applying broadly.
Understand that Blackhawk sponsors both H-1B and Green Card
The company supports H-1B transfers and EB-2/EB-3 Green Card filings. If you're already in the U.S. on H-1B, ask your recruiter early about long-term sponsorship pathways, Blackhawk has experience navigating both routes.
Position yourself for technical or specialized finance roles
Banking and Financial Services employers like Blackhawk typically sponsor roles requiring specialized skills, software engineering, payments infrastructure, and data analytics are strong fits. Generalist roles are less likely to clear the specialty occupation threshold for H-1B.
Raise sponsorship early in the recruiter conversation
Don't wait until the offer stage. Blackhawk has an established sponsorship process, so mentioning your visa requirements upfront helps avoid late-stage complications and signals you understand how employer-sponsored immigration works.
Filter for verified sponsors before you apply
Not every fintech company advertises sponsorship willingness upfront. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, saving time and ensuring Blackhawk's open roles are matched to your visa situation before you apply.
Highlight domain expertise in payments or prepaid card products
Blackhawk Network specializes in gift cards, prepaid payments, and incentive programs. Candidates with direct experience in payments processing, merchant networks, or card program management are a stronger fit for sponsored roles in this company's core business areas.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Blackhawk Network sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Blackhawk Network sponsors H-1B visas. The company operates in Banking & Financial Services and regularly hires internationally in technical and specialized roles, making it an active H-1B sponsor. Roles in software engineering, data, and payments technology are the most common pathways. If you're on an existing H-1B, Blackhawk can file a transfer petition without waiting for the annual lottery.
What types of visas does Blackhawk Network sponsor?
Blackhawk Network sponsors both H-1B nonimmigrant visas and employment-based Green Cards, primarily through the EB-2 and EB-3 categories. The H-1B covers initial work authorization, while the Green Card sponsorship supports longer-term permanent residency pathways. Candidates in technical, analytical, and specialized finance roles are best positioned to access both sponsorship types.
Which departments or roles at Blackhawk Network typically receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Blackhawk Network tends to concentrate in technology and engineering functions, including software development, data engineering, and payments infrastructure. Product and analytics roles within the fintech division also have a track record of sponsorship. Positions requiring a specific bachelor's or advanced degree in a technical field are most likely to meet the H-1B specialty occupation standard.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at Blackhawk Network?
The most efficient way is to use Migrate Mate, which aggregates and verifies sponsorship data so you can browse Blackhawk Network's open roles filtered by visa type. This removes the guesswork of applying to roles only to discover sponsorship isn't available. You can check current openings and confirm which positions align with H-1B or Green Card sponsorship before submitting an application.
How do I approach the application process at Blackhawk Network as a visa-sponsored candidate?
Disclose your sponsorship needs clearly and early, Blackhawk has an established process for both H-1B and Green Card filings, so recruiters are familiar with the requirements. Tailor your application to roles in payments, technology, or data where specialization is evident. Be prepared to explain how your degree connects directly to the job function, as this supports the specialty occupation determination central to the H-1B petition.
