Align Your Credentials With U.S. Standards
Construction roles often require state-recognized licenses or certifications like OSHA 10 or 30. If your credentials were earned abroad, get a formal equivalency evaluation before applying so Clarkson's hiring team can quickly assess your qualifications.
Target Roles Matching Your Visa Category
F-1 OPT and CPT are viable entry points for construction management graduates, while H-1B suits specialty occupation roles like civil or structural engineering. Match your target job title to your visa type before submitting applications to avoid wasted outreach.
Clarify Sponsorship Willingness Early
Raise visa sponsorship in the second conversation, not the first. Once a recruiter signals genuine interest, ask directly whether Clarkson has worked with your specific visa category, since construction firms handle sponsorship differently across technical versus field-based roles.
Prepare for the Labor Condition Application Timeline
Your employer files the Labor Condition Application with DOL before an H-1B petition can move forward. Build at least two to three weeks of LCA processing time into your expected start date when negotiating with Clarkson's hiring or HR team.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Relevant Openings
Construction roles at companies like Clarkson get filled quickly and aren't always flagged as visa-friendly on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Construction positions at employers with a verified sponsorship history so you're applying where it counts.
Document Field Experience in USCIS-Friendly Language
USCIS scrutinizes specialty occupation claims in construction closely. Frame your resume and support letters around the theoretical and practical application of a specific discipline, such as structural engineering or construction management, not general site duties.

H-1B suits longer-term employment in specialty occupation positions across the construction function.
How do I apply for Construction jobs at Clarkson Construction Company?
You can browse current Construction openings at Clarkson Construction Company directly through Migrate Mate, which filters for employers with a verified visa sponsorship history. Practical site experience and familiarity with U.S. building codes are frequently cited in construction job descriptions at this level.
How do I navigate the visa filing timeline after receiving a Construction job offer from Clarkson Construction Company?
Once you receive an offer, Clarkson's HR or legal team will initiate the process, starting with a Labor Condition Application filed with the DOL for H-1B roles.
