About the Role:
As an AI-forward Full Stack Product Manager at Crunchbase, you will accelerate how we apply AI, automation, and connected systems across the company. This role sits within the Product organization and focuses on building and evolving internal AI-powered applications that increase operational velocity, reduce manual work, and improve how teams execute. You will identify friction across workflows, redesign brittle processes, and ship practical solutions that meaningfully improve how work gets done. This is not a strategy-only role. You will operate as a builder. You will rapidly design, prototype, and launch internal AI-driven tools. You will not “own” every system, but you will modernize, connect, and evolve them so they work better together and materially reduce operational drag. This role is about applied AI, system-level thinking, and execution at speed.
- Identify and Eliminate Operational Friction:
- Identify manual, repetitive, or brittle workflows across the organization
- Redesign processes using AI, automation, and system-level improvements
- Reduce low-leverage work to create space for higher-value thinking
- Improve interoperability, reliability, and observability across internal systems
- Build and Ship Internal AI Applications:
- Rapidly design, prototype, and launch AI-driven internal applications
- Turn rough ideas into working solutions that can be tested and validated quickly
- Use lightweight, iterative development approaches to accelerate time-to-value
-
Continuously refine and improve tools based on real-world usage and feedback
-
Drive Practical AI Adoption:
- Push the organization toward applied, usable AI — not experimentation for its own sake
- Evaluate emerging AI tools and technologies for pragmatic internal use cases
- Help teams rethink how work gets done in an AI-enabled operating model
-
Ensure AI implementations drive measurable efficiency, speed, or quality improvements
-
Partner Across the Business:
- Work directly with business leaders to understand operational pain points
- Translate ambiguous needs into structured product and technical solutions
- Operate comfortably across Product, Engineering, and business functions
- Align solutions with company-wide goals and measurable outcomes
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Technical Product Management, or a related technical builder role
- Experience building or implementing AI-powered applications, automation workflows, or internal systems
- Demonstrated experience operating at the intersection of business and engineering
- Track record of rapidly prototyping and launching practical solutions that improve operational efficiency
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred (or equivalent practical experience)
- Strong technical foundation in AI, internal systems, automation, and modern tooling
- Ability to design, prototype, and ship working AI-driven solutions independently
- Systems thinker who understands both technical architecture and human workflow design
- Comfortable navigating and improving existing tools without rigid definitions or guardrails
- Builder mindset — prototypes quickly, iterates frequently, and ships practical solutions
- Operates effectively in ambiguity and proactively identifies inefficiencies others overlook
- Action-oriented with a strong bias toward execution and measurable outcomes
- Ability to translate ambiguous business needs into structured product and technical solutions
- Comfortable working across Product, Engineering, and business functions
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated curiosity and fluency in emerging AI tools and capabilities

Align your portfolio to Crunchbase's data products
Crunchbase values engineers who've worked on data-rich consumer or B2B surfaces. Before applying, reframe your portfolio around API design, data pipelines, or search and discovery features, since those map directly to what their product team builds.
Target roles that map cleanly to specialty occupation
USCIS requires H-1B roles to qualify as specialty occupations. For Product Engineer positions, your degree field should directly support the job duties. Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems degrees make the clearest case and reduce petition risk.
Raise sponsorship after demonstrating technical fit
Crunchbase's engineering interviews are technical-first. Address sponsorship only after clearing the system design or coding rounds, not in the initial screen. Hiring managers are more receptive once they've seen you're the right person for the role.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Product Engineer roles
Crunchbase's sponsored engineering roles aren't always easy to identify through general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Product Engineer positions at Crunchbase that have a visa sponsorship history, so you're applying where the pathway already exists.
Understand PERM timelines if you're targeting a Green Card
EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship through PERM typically takes 18 to 36 months from initiation to approval under current DOL processing times. If permanent residency is your goal, ask about the company's standard timeline during offer negotiations, not after you've signed.

Find Product Engineer at Crunchbase JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Crunchbase sponsor H-1B visas for Product Engineers?
Crunchbase has sponsored work visas for engineering roles, and Product Engineer positions fall within the scope of functions they've supported. H-1B sponsorship for this role would require the position to qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, which software and product engineering roles typically satisfy when tied to a relevant degree. Confirm sponsorship availability directly during the offer stage.
How do I apply for Product Engineer jobs at Crunchbase?
Applications go through Crunchbase's careers page, where open Product Engineer roles are listed. You can also find sponsored engineering positions at Crunchbase filtered by visa type on Migrate Mate, which makes it easier to identify roles where sponsorship has historically been available. Tailor your application to highlight experience with data-driven product development, API work, or B2B platform engineering.
Which visa types are commonly used for Product Engineer roles at Crunchbase?
Crunchbase has supported F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, EB-2, and EB-3 pathways for engineering roles. F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates entering the team, with STEM OPT extension available given Crunchbase's E-Verify enrollment. TN is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering classifications. EB-2 and EB-3 cover longer-term permanent residency sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process.
What qualifications and experience does Crunchbase expect for Product Engineer roles?
Crunchbase's Product Engineer roles sit at the intersection of software engineering and product thinking. Strong candidates typically have backend or full-stack engineering experience, familiarity with data modeling or search infrastructure, and the ability to work across product and engineering teams. A bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field supports both the role requirements and any future visa sponsorship filings.
How do I plan around visa sponsorship timelines when targeting Crunchbase?
Timing depends on your current status. If you're on F-1 OPT, your employer needs to file an H-1B petition before your OPT expires, with cap-subject filings only accepted in March for an October 1 start. TN status can be obtained at the border or port of entry with less lead time. For EB-2 or EB-3, PERM processing under DOL currently runs 18 to 36 months, so those conversations are best started after you've settled into the role.
