Align your degree to KLA's requirements
KLA's Product Engineer roles typically require a degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline. Make sure your transcripts clearly reflect coursework in semiconductor devices or process engineering before applying, since your degree field directly supports the specialty occupation determination USCIS reviews.
Research KLA's fab and R&D site locations
KLA operates engineering sites across California, Oregon, and internationally. Product Engineer openings vary by site and product line, so filtering job searches by location and technology node helps you identify teams most likely to have active headcount and sponsorship capacity.
Use Migrate Mate to surface KLA openings
Product Engineer postings at KLA are spread across multiple job boards and often close quickly. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for KLA roles that include visa sponsorship, so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed rather than assumed.
Clarify the LCA prevailing wage before negotiating
For H-1B filings, KLA must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL certifying your offered wage meets the prevailing wage for your role and work location. Understand that your negotiated salary will be locked into the LCA, so research DOL wage levels for Product Engineers in your site's metro area beforehand.
Prepare for a multi-stage PERM process if pursuing a Green Card
KLA sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for Product Engineers, but PERM labor certification requires your employer to run a formal recruitment process first. Starting H-1B employment with Green Card sponsorship as a stated goal early in your tenure gives you more runway before your six-year H-1B limit approaches.

Find Product Engineer at KLA JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does KLA sponsor H-1B visas for Product Engineers?
Yes, KLA sponsors H-1B visas for Product Engineer roles. Because these positions require specialized knowledge in semiconductor process engineering or equipment development, they typically meet USCIS's specialty occupation standard. KLA participates in the H-1B cap lottery each spring, so timing your offer acceptance and start date to align with the annual filing window in March is essential.
How do I apply for Product Engineer jobs at KLA?
Applications go through KLA's careers portal, where Product Engineer roles are listed by site, product line, and experience level. You can also browse verified KLA Product Engineer openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which helps you focus on active postings where sponsorship is confirmed. Tailoring your resume to reflect semiconductor process or equipment engineering experience significantly improves your chances of moving past initial screening.
Which visa types does KLA commonly use for Product Engineers?
KLA sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, J-1, and EB-2 or EB-3 Green Cards for Product Engineer roles. F-1 OPT is the most common starting point for new graduates, with H-1B sponsorship following once a candidate is hired. TN is available for Canadian and Mexican engineers in qualifying disciplines. Green Card sponsorship through PERM typically becomes available after a period of H-1B employment.
What qualifications does KLA expect for Product Engineer roles?
Most Product Engineer positions at KLA require a bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a closely related field. Hands-on experience with semiconductor process equipment, yield analysis, or failure analysis is strongly preferred. Roles supporting advanced inspection or metrology tools may require familiarity with specific fab environments. Graduate degrees can strengthen candidacy for senior-level openings.
How long does the visa sponsorship process typically take for a KLA Product Engineer hire?
Timeline depends on visa type. F-1 OPT authorization is generally in place at hire. H-1B cap filings submitted in March have an October 1 start date if selected in the lottery. PERM labor certification for Green Cards currently takes roughly one to two years through DOL before an I-140 petition can be filed with USCIS. Starting the Green Card process early in your H-1B tenure avoids running into the six-year statutory limit.
