Align your portfolio to process control software
KLA's Product Software Engineer roles center on metrology, inspection, and yield analysis tooling. Showcase projects involving data pipelines, signal processing, or instrument control software to match what their hiring teams are actively screening for.
Clarify your OPT or CPT authorization early
If you're on F-1 status, confirm whether the role falls under STEM OPT extension eligibility before your first recruiter screen. KLA's engineering roles typically qualify, but having your authorization timeline documented prevents delays once an offer is on the table.
Target divisions with active semiconductor tool development
KLA's Broadband Plasma and Wafer Inspection divisions consistently post Product Software Engineer openings. Focusing your applications on product lines with active hardware roadmaps increases your chances of landing a role that genuinely requires your software background.
Understand how your LCA ties to your work location
DOL requires your Labor Condition Application to list the specific worksite where you'll be based. If KLA offers a hybrid or multi-site arrangement, confirm which office is your primary location before your H-1B filing begins to avoid LCA amendments later.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Product Software Engineer openings at KLA
Sorting through KLA's job board by sponsorship eligibility manually is slow. Migrate Mate surfaces roles at KLA that are open to visa sponsorship, so you can focus your applications on positions where your immigration status won't disqualify you.
Prepare for PERM by documenting specialized skills now
If KLA pursues a Green Card through PERM labor certification, DOL requires proving no qualified U.S. worker is available. Keeping current records of your domain-specific skills in semiconductor software strengthens the employer's recruitment justification at the filing stage.

Find Product Software Engineer at KLA JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does KLA sponsor H-1B visas for Product Software Engineers?
Yes, KLA sponsors H-1B visas for Product Software Engineers. The company has a dedicated immigration support function that manages H-1B filings, including cap-subject petitions and cap-exempt transfers for candidates already holding H-1B status with another employer. If you're transitioning from a cap-exempt institution, KLA can file outside the annual lottery.
Which visa types are commonly used for Product Software Engineer roles at KLA?
H-1B is the most common path for full-time Product Software Engineers at KLA. F-1 OPT and STEM OPT extension are frequently used for new graduates entering the role. TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering classifications. For longer-term permanent residence, KLA supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM labor certification.
What qualifications and experience does KLA expect for Product Software Engineer roles?
KLA typically looks for a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field. Hands-on experience with C++, Python, or software development for instrumentation or embedded systems is valued. Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing processes, metrology concepts, or yield data analysis puts candidates in a stronger position for product-facing engineering roles.
How do I apply for Product Software Engineer jobs at KLA?
You can browse open Product Software Engineer positions at KLA directly through their careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship eligibility. When applying, flag your work authorization status clearly on your application. KLA's recruitment process for these roles typically includes a recruiter screen, technical assessments, and panel interviews with the product engineering team.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship to join KLA?
USCIS opens H-1B registration each March for an October 1 start date. If you're on F-1 STEM OPT, your extension provides up to 24 additional months of work authorization, which means you can remain employed at KLA through at least one lottery cycle if your initial registration isn't selected. Coordinating your offer timing with KLA's immigration team before March registration closes is critical.
