Align your portfolio to fintech systems
JPMorganChase prioritizes engineers with experience in high-throughput, low-latency systems or large-scale data pipelines. Frame your portfolio around reliability, scalability, and security, since those are the design constraints that define their product engineering work.
Target roles on their technology careers portal
JPMorganChase's engineering roles are listed separately from their general careers site under a dedicated technology hiring track. Filtering for Product Software Engineer titles within that track reduces noise and surfaces roles that are historically more open to visa sponsorship.
Clarify sponsorship intent before the offer stage
Large financial institutions route visa decisions through centralized immigration teams, not individual hiring managers. Raise your visa requirement with your recruiter during the screening call so it reaches the right team early, avoiding surprises during offer finalization.
Understand how PERM timelines affect your start date
If you're targeting an employment-based Green Card pathway through EB-2 or EB-3, JPMorganChase will need to run PERM labor certification through DOL before filing your immigrant petition. That process typically takes 12 to 18 months and should factor into your start date negotiations.
Search verified sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Product Software Engineer openings at JPMorganChase by visa type, so you're applying to roles where sponsorship has actually been filed, not just advertised. It saves time you'd otherwise spend screening listings manually.
Prepare your LCA documentation before H-1B filing opens
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting your H-1B petition to USCIS. At a firm like JPMorganChase, internal legal teams handle this, but you'll need to supply your job title, work location, and start date details accurately and promptly when asked.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does JPMorganChase sponsor H-1B visas for Product Software Engineers?
Yes, JPMorganChase sponsors H-1B visas for Product Software Engineers. The firm has a dedicated immigration team that handles petitions for technical roles across its lines of business. Sponsorship decisions are made centrally, so you'll want to confirm your visa requirement with your recruiter early in the process rather than waiting until the offer stage.
Which visa types does JPMorganChase commonly use for Product Software Engineers?
JPMorganChase sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, and E-3 visas for Product Software Engineer roles, as well as employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. H-1B is the most commonly used category for this function. Australian citizens can pursue the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and allows for a more predictable sponsorship timeline.
How do I apply for Product Software Engineer jobs at JPMorganChase?
Apply through JPMorganChase's technology careers portal, where Product Software Engineer roles are listed separately from general corporate positions. Tailor your resume to reflect systems design, product delivery, and domain-specific engineering work relevant to financial services. You can also browse visa-sponsored openings at JPMorganChase directly on Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles where sponsorship has been filed.
What qualifications does JPMorganChase expect for Product Software Engineer roles?
JPMorganChase typically expects a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, which also satisfies the specialty occupation requirement for H-1B sponsorship. Beyond credentials, they look for hands-on experience with distributed systems, API design, or cloud infrastructure. Familiarity with financial products or regulated technology environments strengthens your application.
How do I plan my timeline if I need JPMorganChase to sponsor my H-1B?
If you need a new H-1B, the annual lottery opens in March with a registration window of roughly two weeks, and approved petitions have an October 1 start date. That means you'll need a job offer in hand before March. If you're already on a valid status such as F-1 OPT, JPMorganChase can begin the process earlier. Premium processing through USCIS can reduce adjudication time to 15 business days if timing is critical.
