Align your portfolio to Crunchbase's data products
Crunchbase's core product is structured business data at scale. Projects demonstrating experience with data pipelines, search infrastructure, or API-driven interfaces signal direct role fit and make sponsorship conversations easier to justify internally.
Confirm OPT authorization before your start date
F-1 OPT authorization must be active before your first day. USCIS recommends applying 90 days before your program end date. A delayed EAD card can push back your start date even after an offer is signed.
Ask about Green Card sponsorship timelines in final rounds
Crunchbase sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 pathways, which involve PERM labor certification filed with DOL. Asking about the typical timeline and which pathway the company uses for engineers helps you plan your long-term status while still on a nonimmigrant visa.
Target roles that match your exact degree field
Product Software Engineer positions at Crunchbase typically require a degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field. A degree in an adjacent discipline can create specialty occupation issues during H-1B filing, so verify the match before applying.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by visa type
Crunchbase posts multiple Product Software Engineer openings at any time. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for positions that align with your visa category, so you're only spending time on roles where sponsorship is confirmed.
Request the offer letter before your 60-day grace period ends
If you're between jobs on an H-1B or F-1, you have a 60-day grace period after employment ends. Your new employer's H-1B transfer petition must be filed with USCIS before that window closes for you to maintain lawful status.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Crunchbase sponsor H-1B visas for Product Software Engineers?
Crunchbase does not appear in public H-1B visa disclosure data as a consistent H-1B filer for this role. The visa types confirmed for Product Software Engineer positions include F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN visa, and employment-based Green Card pathways (EB-2 and EB-3). If H-1B visa sponsorship is your specific need, clarify directly with the hiring team during the offer stage.
How do I apply for Product Software Engineer jobs at Crunchbase?
Applications go through Crunchbase's careers page, where Product Software Engineer roles are listed under engineering. Migrate Mate also aggregates these openings and lets you filter by visa type, so you can confirm sponsorship eligibility before applying. Tailoring your application to Crunchbase's data-focused product stack improves your chances of moving to a technical screen.
Which visa types does Crunchbase commonly use for Product Software Engineers?
Crunchbase sponsors F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT for students currently enrolled or recently graduated, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles, and EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term employment. These categories cover a range of situations, from early-career engineers finishing degrees to candidates seeking permanent residence.
What qualifications does Crunchbase expect for Product Software Engineer roles?
Crunchbase Product Software Engineer roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a directly related field. Hands-on experience with data-heavy systems, backend APIs, or product-facing infrastructure is commonly emphasized. For visa purposes, the degree field must align closely with the job duties to satisfy specialty occupation requirements under most work visa categories.
How do I manage my visa timeline when interviewing at Crunchbase?
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your EAD card is active and check your STEM OPT extension eligibility with your DSO before starting the process. If you're on TN status, Crunchbase will need to provide a support letter before you travel. For Green Card pathways, PERM labor certification with DOL typically takes six months to a year before the I-140 petition is filed with USCIS.
