ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Total Rewards Benefits Operate Senior Consultant, you will support work by contributing to Health & Welfare (H&W) benefits administration implementations and enabling a smooth transition to ongoing operations. - Build and maintain key implementation artifacts (requirements traceability, decision logs, RAID logs, status updates, implementation schedules).
- Advise on end-to-end H&W administration capabilities across traditional provider platforms (e.g., enrollment experience, rules engines, eligibility, communications, carrier connectivity).
- Support operational process design (exception handling, case processes, reconciliation, member experience touchpoints).
- Assist with test planning and execution for integrations and deductions (test scenarios, test data, defect triage, results documentation).
- Help identify and escalate risks tied to data quality, timing, and payroll close dependencies.
- Develop or support creation of readiness artifacts (SOP drafts, RACI inputs, escalation paths, training/job aids, service metrics).
- Support hypercare activities: issue tracking, root cause analysis support, communication to stakeholders, and documentation of fixes.
- Partner effectively with client stakeholders across Total Rewards, HR, HRIT, Payroll, Finance, and vendors.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Senior Learning Consultant Jobs at Deloitte Jobs
Frame your portfolio around client-facing outcomes
Deloitte's Senior Learning Consultant roles are billable positions tied to client engagements, not internal L&D. Highlight projects where you designed learning solutions for external organizations, not just internal training programs you ran for your own employer.
Target Deloitte's Human Capital practice directly
Roles in this function sit under the Human Capital service line, not general HR or talent. Searching under that practice area on Deloitte's careers site surfaces open positions faster than a broad keyword search for learning or instructional design.
Confirm your role qualifies as a specialty occupation
USCIS requires that the position normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. For learning consultant roles, a degree in instructional design, organizational psychology, or education typically satisfies this. A generalist business degree alone may not be sufficient without supporting evidence.
Understand Deloitte's LCA timing before your start date
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process your H-1B petition. At a firm like Deloitte, this process moves through a centralized immigration team, so request confirmation of LCA filing status early to avoid start date delays.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by sponsorship type
Deloitte sponsors across several visa categories, but not every open role is cleared for every visa type. Use Migrate Mate to filter Senior Learning Consultant openings by the specific visa you need before you spend time on applications or recruiter outreach.
Get your transcripts evaluated before the offer stage
If you completed your degree outside the U.S., have it evaluated by a NACES-accredited credential evaluation service before Deloitte's immigration team starts your petition. Waiting until after an offer is made can delay your H-1B or E-3 filing by weeks.

Find Senior Learning Consultant at Deloitte JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Deloitte sponsor H-1B visas for Senior Learning Consultants?
Yes, Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for Senior Learning Consultants. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation because it requires a degree in a relevant field such as instructional design, organizational development, or a related discipline. Sponsorship is handled through Deloitte's centralized immigration function, and the process generally follows standard H-1B timelines including the annual cap lottery that opens each March.
Which visa types does Deloitte commonly use for Senior Learning Consultant roles?
Deloitte sponsors the H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 for this role depending on your nationality. Australian citizens are eligible for the E-3, which has no lottery and allows more predictable timelines. Chilean and Singaporean nationals may qualify for the H-1B1. Deloitte also supports longer-term permanent residence pathways through EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for established employees in this function.
How do I apply for Senior Learning Consultant jobs at Deloitte?
Applications go through Deloitte's careers portal, where roles are listed under the Human Capital service line. Migrate Mate also aggregates open Senior Learning Consultant positions at Deloitte filtered by visa sponsorship type, so you can confirm a role supports your visa category before applying. Tailoring your application to client-facing learning engagements rather than internal training experience improves your chances at the screening stage.
What qualifications does Deloitte expect for a Senior Learning Consultant role?
Deloitte typically looks for a bachelor's degree in instructional design, organizational psychology, education, or a closely related field, along with several years of experience designing and delivering learning solutions for enterprise clients. Familiarity with instructional design methodologies, learning technology platforms, and consulting environments is expected. A master's degree or certification in learning and development can strengthen both your application and your H-1B specialty occupation case.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship for a Deloitte role?
If you need an H-1B, the annual lottery registration window opens in March, with cap-subject petitions filed for an October 1 start date. E-3 and H-1B1 petitions are not subject to the lottery and can be filed year-round, offering more flexibility. Build at least four to six months into your planning from offer acceptance to start date, and confirm early whether your role at Deloitte is cap-subject or cap-exempt.
