Tailor your resume to cloud-native tooling
DigitalOcean's DevOps roles center on Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines built for public cloud environments. Frame your experience around infrastructure-as-code and container orchestration, not just general sysadmin work, before you apply.
Target roles aligned with your visa timeline
If your OPT or grace period is running short, prioritize DigitalOcean's remote-eligible DevOps postings, which can move faster through the offer stage. USCIS cap-gap protection covers F-1 students with a timely H-1B petition, so know your exact status expiry date.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active DevOps openings
DigitalOcean's DevOps roles rotate frequently across infrastructure, reliability, and platform teams. Use Migrate Mate to filter current openings by visa type so you're applying to roles with confirmed sponsorship rather than guessing from a general jobs board.
Prepare your LCA documentation with the employer early
For H-1B filings, DOL requires DigitalOcean to file a Labor Condition Application certifying your offered wage meets the prevailing rate for your location. Ask your recruiter which wage level they're targeting so you can assess fit before the petition is drafted.
Showcase site reliability experience for EB-2 or EB-3 pathways
If you're pursuing permanent residence through PERM, DigitalOcean's DevOps job descriptions define the minimum requirements USCIS and DOL use in the audit. Align your credentials to the posted role requirements now, not after you've started.

Find DevOps at DigitalOcean JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does DigitalOcean sponsor H-1B visas for DevOps roles?
Yes, DigitalOcean sponsors H-1B visas for DevOps positions. The company files petitions on behalf of selected candidates, which means your employer handles the USCIS submission. Because H-1B cap-subject petitions are subject to the annual lottery, timing your job search to align with the April filing window is important if you're starting from F-1 OPT status.
How do I apply for DevOps jobs at DigitalOcean?
Applications go through DigitalOcean's careers portal, where DevOps openings are listed under engineering and infrastructure teams. Migrate Mate aggregates these listings and filters by visa sponsorship type, so you can confirm a role supports your specific status before applying. Tailor your application to reflect experience with cloud-native infrastructure, not just general operations work.
Which visa types does DigitalOcean sponsor for DevOps positions?
DigitalOcean sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT for DevOps roles, and supports Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 through the PERM labor certification process. TN is available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical categories. The right visa type depends on your nationality, degree, and where you are in your immigration timeline.
What qualifications does DigitalOcean expect for sponsored DevOps roles?
Most DevOps postings at DigitalOcean require hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud infrastructure management, typically on public cloud platforms. A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related engineering field is the standard baseline. Candidates with site reliability or platform engineering backgrounds and experience supporting developer-facing infrastructure tend to be competitive for these roles.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a DevOps role at DigitalOcean?
Timeline varies by visa type. H-1B standard processing with USCIS takes three to six months after the April lottery; premium processing can reduce USCIS review to around 15 business days. TN visas for Canadians can be approved at the border on the same day. F-1 OPT authorization is handled before employment begins, but STEM OPT extensions require a timely I-765 filing at least 90 days before OPT expiry.
