Frame Your Experience Around Industrial Software
Dyno Nobel's engineering stack supports operations in mining, chemical processing, and field logistics. Candidates who can demonstrate experience with real-time systems, IoT integration, or industrial data pipelines stand out over general full-stack applicants.
Verify Your OPT STEM Extension Eligibility Early
Computer science and software engineering degrees from ABET-accredited programs qualify for a 24-month STEM OPT extension. Confirm your degree and institution meet the criteria with your DSO before accepting any offer, so your employment authorization timeline aligns with Dyno Nobel's onboarding schedule.
Understand How H-1B Cap Timing Affects Your Start Date
If Dyno Nobel files an H-1B petition on your behalf, USCIS caps mean you can't start in cap-subject status before October 1. Plan your OPT cap-gap coverage or F-1 grace period accordingly so there's no gap in work authorization between offer acceptance and your actual start date.
Ask About TN Eligibility If You Hold Canadian or Mexican Citizenship
Software engineers from Canada or Mexico may qualify for TN status under the USMCA's 'engineer' or 'computer systems analyst' categories, which carries no annual cap and no lottery. Raise this with the hiring team before they begin an H-1B petition on your behalf.
Target Roles That Signal Long-Term Sponsorship Intent
Dyno Nobel posts Software Engineer roles across safety systems, manufacturing automation, and enterprise applications. Roles tied to core operational platforms are more likely to support Green Card sponsorship through PERM and EB-2 or EB-3 pathways than short-cycle project positions. Use Migrate Mate to filter and track these openings by sponsorship history.
Clarify Immigration Counsel Arrangements Before Signing
During the offer stage, confirm whether Dyno Nobel retains outside immigration counsel or manages filings internally. Knowing this tells you how quickly your I-129 petition can move and whether you'll have direct access to the attorney handling your case.

Find Software Engineer at Dyno Nobel JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Dyno Nobel sponsor H-1B visas for Software Engineers?
Yes, Dyno Nobel sponsors H-1B visas for Software Engineer roles. The company has an established pattern of supporting employment-based immigration across its technology functions. If you're subject to the H-1B cap, your employer will need to register you in the annual USCIS lottery, with petition filing following a successful selection.
How do I apply for Software Engineer jobs at Dyno Nobel?
Applications go through Dyno Nobel's careers portal. Before applying, review each job description carefully for language around system environments, as roles span manufacturing execution systems, field operations software, and enterprise platforms. Tailoring your resume to the specific technical domain of the role, whether automation, logistics, or safety systems, meaningfully improves your chances of moving to a screen.
Which visa types does Dyno Nobel commonly use for Software Engineers?
Dyno Nobel sponsors across several categories: H-1B for specialty occupation workers, F-1 OPT and CPT for students completing degrees, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 through PERM labor certification. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and current immigration status.
What qualifications does Dyno Nobel expect for Software Engineer roles?
Most postings require a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field, which also satisfies the H-1B specialty occupation standard. Beyond the degree, Dyno Nobel's roles frequently emphasize experience with industrial or operational software environments. Familiarity with systems that interact with physical infrastructure, manufacturing processes, or field data collection gives candidates a practical edge over general enterprise developers.
How long does the sponsorship and hiring process typically take at Dyno Nobel?
Timeline depends on your visa category. F-1 OPT authorization is controlled by your DSO and takes several weeks to process, so apply early. H-1B cap filings run on a fixed annual cycle, with USCIS registration in March and the earliest cap-subject start date of October 1. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship typically spans one to two years from initiation to I-140 approval, depending on DOL processing times and your priority date.
