WeAreEA and we exist to inspire the world to play. EA values creativity, pioneering, passion, determination, learning, and teamwork. The Corporate Strategy team at EA drives EA's long-term growth and innovation. We specialize in turning bold ideas into tangible strategies, identifying emerging opportunities, and developing the next generation of strategic leaders.
We are seeking a seasoned strategic leader to serve as a key advisor to the President of EA SPORTS and their Leadership Team. Reporting to the VP of Corporate Strategy, this is a high-visibility position with significant engagement across EA, including the CEO and their executive staff.
This role offers a rare opportunity to define and execute a strategy that positions EA SPORTS as the most valuable and globally recognized sports brand. Working across iconic franchises such as FC, Madden NFL, College Football, UFC, NHL, and F1, you will shape the future of EA SPORTS and its influence in the global sports ecosystem, extending in, around, and beyond the bounds of interactive entertainment.
Your leadership will directly impact how EA SPORTS connects with fans worldwide, deepens its cultural relevance, and drives long-term business growth. Drawing on deep expertise in the sports industry and a proven track record of developing strategies in dynamic, competitive markets, you will play a pivotal role in unlocking the next phase of growth for EA SPORTS.
Responsibilities
Strategic Vision and Leadership
- Serve as a trusted thought partner to the President of EA SPORTS and leadership across EA SPORTS teams, including commercial, brand marketing, and the GMs of EA SPORTS individual franchises, shaping a long-term vision that positions the brand as a leader in the global sports ecosystem.
- Build deep, credible relationships with senior leaders across EA SPORTS, positioning the Strategy function as an embedded and trusted member of the decision-making process.
- Develop relationships with senior strategy leaders across relevant industries, including leagues, teams, media entities, and adjacent businesses, to exchange insights, explore opportunities, and inform EA SPORTS' strategic priorities.
- Provide thought leadership on how changes in sports fandom, fan engagement, and emerging technologies are reshaping the future of sports, and create opportunities for EA SPORTS to lead.
- In partnership with the Business Strategy and Intelligence teams, proactively analyze industry dynamics, including league and team performance, capital trends, rights structures, and emerging business models, to identify actionable implications for EA SPORTS.
Strategic Planning
- Develop and manage a robust framework for evaluating strategic opportunities, including new ideas, licenses, and partnerships, ensuring alignment with EA SPORTS' growth objectives.
- Deliver ad hoc financial, market, and scenario analyses to support the EA SPORTS leadership team in navigating complex business decisions.
- Lead select high-impact strategic initiatives in collaboration with key stakeholders, such as evaluating new licenses or supporting M&A diligence, to guide critical business decisions.
- Collaborate with Development, Finance, and commercial teams to align franchise strategies with EA's corporate strategy and financial goals.
- Deliver data-backed recommendations to guide strategic decisions and provide clear updates to C-level leadership and Board of Directors.
Mentor And Develop Strategy Talent
- Foster a collaborative, innovative culture that bridges sports, entertainment, and technology, inspiring teams to think expansively.
- Act as a senior leader within the Corporate Strategy team, actively mentoring and sponsoring emerging strategy talent, developing a pipeline of future scaled leaders, and contributing to the broader capability-building agenda of the function.
- Demonstrate experience building and developing high-performing teams, with a track record of growing talent and, where relevant, expanding team scope and headcount in line with business needs.
Requirements
- 12+ years of demonstrable relevant work experience in strategy or a related role, with 3+ years in a management capacity, in the media, sports, or technology space.
- Deep experience in the sports ecosystem, including leagues, teams, sports networks, media entities, or adjacent businesses, with a strong working understanding of how rights structures, commercial partnerships, and value pools operate across the industry. Experience in or alongside the gaming industry is a plus, but sports industry expertise is the priority.
- Expertise in developing and implementing large-scale strategies that deliver measurable business impact, including experience with adjacent revenue models, licensing, and partnership structures.
- A proven relationship builder and influencer, someone who earns trust with senior stakeholders through credibility, humility, and a genuine desire to learn the business, and who can shape decisions without needing to be the loudest voice in the room.
- Demonstrated success in collaborating with and advising senior leaders across complex, matrixed organizations, and influencing decision-making in high-stakes environments.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills, with experience in scenario modeling and financial analysis.
- Experience building and scaling teams, with demonstrated ability to attract, develop, and retain strong strategy talent.

Frame your deal experience around gaming verticals
EA's Business Development team focuses on platform partnerships, IP licensing, and developer relations. Tailor your resume to highlight deals in interactive entertainment, digital distribution, or consumer tech rather than generic B2B sales experience.
Confirm EA's E-Verify enrollment before applying
EA is an E-Verify employer, which is a DOL and DHS requirement for F-1 OPT STEM extension eligibility. Verify enrollment through the E-Verify employer search tool before committing significant time to an application.
Use Migrate Mate to filter active EA openings by visa type
EA posts Business Development roles sporadically and across multiple sub-teams. Use Migrate Mate to surface current openings filtered by sponsorship type so you're targeting roles EA is actively filling, not stale listings.
Time your application around EA's fiscal calendar
EA's fiscal year ends in March. Headcount approvals and new partnership initiatives often drive hiring in Q1 and Q2 of their fiscal year, typically April through September. Targeting this window improves your odds of landing an active requisition.
Understand how H-1B cap timing affects your start date
If EA extends an H-1B offer, USCIS cap-subject petitions filed in April carry an October 1 start date. Build this into your negotiation so both sides align on your earliest possible first day before you sign anything.

Find Business Development at Electronic Arts JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Electronic Arts sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development roles?
Yes, Electronic Arts sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development positions. EA is an established tech employer with a history of filing H-1B petitions across corporate functions, including business development and strategic partnerships. If you're cap-subject, your petition would be filed in the April lottery window with an October 1 start date. If you're transferring from another H-1B employer, EA can file a transfer petition at any time.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Electronic Arts?
Applications go through EA's careers portal at ea.com/careers. Business Development roles at EA are not always listed under a single team, so search for titles like Business Development Manager, Strategic Partnerships, and Platform Relations. Migrate Mate lets you filter active EA openings by visa sponsorship type, which is useful if you need to confirm a role qualifies before investing time in a full application.
Which visa types does Electronic Arts commonly sponsor for Business Development positions?
EA sponsors H-1B, TN, J-1, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Business Development roles, and also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term hires. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. F-1 OPT and CPT eligibility depends on your degree field and program stage, and EA's E-Verify participation makes it eligible for the 24-month STEM OPT extension.
What qualifications does Electronic Arts look for in Business Development candidates?
EA's Business Development roles typically require experience in deal-making, partner management, or licensing within gaming, digital media, or consumer technology. A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field is standard, and many senior roles expect demonstrated experience closing platform or content distribution agreements. Familiarity with the interactive entertainment industry and an existing network in gaming or developer ecosystems is a practical differentiator.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take if Electronic Arts extends an offer?
Timeline depends on visa type. H-1B cap-subject petitions require the April lottery, with work authorization starting October 1 at the earliest, so expect a six-month-plus gap between offer and start. H-1B transfers and TN visas move faster, often within weeks. For Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3, the PERM labor certification process at DOL alone typically takes six to twelve months before USCIS adjudication begins.
