Target engineering and technical roles first
EA's sponsorship activity is concentrated in software development, data engineering, and technical disciplines. If your background is in these areas, you're applying into the roles where EA has the strongest and most consistent sponsorship history.
Understand EA's H-1B and Green Card pathways
EA sponsors both H-1B visas and permanent residency through EB-2 and EB-3 categories, meaning sponsorship can extend beyond your initial work visa. Understanding both pathways helps you ask the right questions during the hiring process.
OPT and CPT candidates should apply early
EA actively hires F-1 students on OPT and CPT, particularly for internships and new graduate roles. Apply well ahead of your authorization start date since onboarding timelines at large tech companies can run four to eight weeks.
Use verified sponsorship data to prioritize your applications
Not every EA job posting will mention sponsorship explicitly. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you confirm EA's track record before investing time in an application.
Prepare for a structured, multi-round interview process
EA typically runs technical screen plus multiple interview rounds for engineering roles. International applicants should factor this timeline into their visa authorization window, especially if you're on OPT with limited days remaining.
TN visa holders should confirm role eligibility before applying
EA sponsors TN visas, but TN eligibility depends on your specific job title and occupation category. Before applying, verify that your target role falls within a qualifying TN classification to avoid complications late in the hiring process.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Electronic Arts sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Electronic Arts sponsors H-1B visas and has a consistent track record of doing so across multiple years. Sponsorship is most common in software engineering, data, and other technical disciplines. EA also supports permanent residency through EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways, making it a meaningful long-term option for international workers in tech.
Which visa types does Electronic Arts sponsor?
Electronic Arts sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN visa, J-1 visa, EB-2, and EB-3 visas. This range of visa types reflects EA's broad hiring approach, supporting both early-career candidates on student visas and experienced professionals seeking longer-term work authorization or permanent residency in the United States.
Which departments or roles at Electronic Arts are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Software engineering, data engineering, machine learning, and technical product roles represent the core of EA's sponsored hiring. Creative and production roles can also receive sponsorship, though that is less consistent. If your background sits at the intersection of technology and gaming, EA's sponsorship pipeline is well suited to your profile.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at Electronic Arts?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find EA roles confirmed to come with visa sponsorship. Rather than filtering through job boards that don't surface sponsorship history, Migrate Mate lets you search EA's open positions knowing the company's sponsorship track record is already verified. This saves significant time during a job search where authorization timelines matter.
How do I time my application to Electronic Arts around my visa status?
Start your application at least three to four months before your current work authorization expires. EA's hiring process typically involves multiple interview rounds, and once an offer is extended, H-1B petition preparation adds additional lead time. F-1 OPT candidates should factor in EA's onboarding timeline alongside their OPT start date to avoid any gap in work authorization.
