Align your portfolio to EPAM's delivery model
EPAM staffs architects on client-facing engagements, so your portfolio should show cross-industry architecture decisions at scale. Document microservices migrations, cloud transitions, or distributed system designs that mirror consulting-style delivery, not just internal product work.
Target roles mapped to active client accounts
EPAM's Systems Architect openings are often tied to specific client programs in financial services, healthcare, or life sciences. Filter by practice vertical during your search because labor condition applications are filed against a specific worksite location tied to that engagement.
Request an H-1B transfer timeline early in offers
If you're already on H-1B with another employer, EPAM can file a cap-exempt transfer. Ask your recruiter during the offer stage whether they'll use premium processing so your start date aligns with the client project timeline, not a three-to-five month standard queue.
Prepare for specialty occupation documentation upfront
USCIS scrutinizes architect roles for specialty occupation eligibility. Have your degree transcripts, an official credential evaluation if your degree is from outside the U.S., and a detailed position description that specifies the theoretical and practical application of a relevant field ready before filing begins.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open Systems Architect roles
EPAM posts across multiple channels and openings move quickly. Use Migrate Mate to filter verified Systems Architect positions at EPAM that are open to visa sponsorship, so you're applying to live roles rather than listings that have already closed.
Understand how PERM affects your long-term path
For EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, EPAM must complete a DOL PERM labor certification before filing your immigrant petition. That process can take 12 to 18 months before an I-140 is even submitted, so raise green card intent early so the timeline is factored into your employment agreement.

Find Systems Architect at EPAM Systems JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does EPAM Systems sponsor H-1B visas for Systems Architects?
Yes, EPAM Systems sponsors H-1B visas for Systems Architects. The company has a dedicated immigration function and works with outside counsel to file both new H-1B cap registrations and cap-exempt transfers for candidates already holding H-1B status. If you're in the H-1B lottery or transferring from another employer, EPAM's process is structured to handle both scenarios for this role level.
How do I apply for Systems Architect jobs at EPAM Systems?
Apply directly through EPAM's careers portal or find verified sponsorship-eligible openings through Migrate Mate. Systems Architect roles at EPAM are frequently tied to specific client engagements, so tailoring your application to the relevant technology practice, such as cloud, data, or enterprise platforms, significantly strengthens your candidacy. Recruiters typically screen for delivery experience and cross-industry architecture exposure early in the process.
Which visa types does EPAM Systems commonly use for Systems Architect roles?
EPAM sponsors H-1B visas most frequently for Systems Architects, including both cap-subject registrations and cap-exempt transfers. For candidates in university programs, F-1 OPT and CPT are supported for internship and early-career pathways. Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying architecture roles may be eligible for TN classification. For long-term employment, EPAM also pursues EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process.
What qualifications does EPAM Systems expect for a Systems Architect role?
EPAM typically looks for a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field. Beyond the degree, the company expects hands-on experience designing distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, or enterprise integration patterns at scale. For USCIS H-1B purposes, the degree must directly relate to the role's duties, so roles with a broad technology mandate can face closer scrutiny during petition review.
How long does visa sponsorship take for a Systems Architect position at EPAM Systems?
An H-1B transfer from an existing employer typically takes three to five months under standard USCIS processing, or two to three weeks with premium processing. New cap-subject H-1B registrations follow the April lottery and October 1 start date cycle. EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship involves a DOL PERM labor certification phase that can run 12 to 18 months before an I-140 petition is filed, so total immigrant visa timelines vary significantly depending on your country of birth.
