Align your degree to clinical roles
Aspirus Health prioritizes OPT candidates whose degree field maps directly to the role, not just the industry. Review the O*NET occupation profile for your target position and confirm the educational requirements match your transcript before applying.
Confirm E-Verify enrollment before accepting
STEM OPT's 24-month extension requires your employer to be enrolled in E-Verify. Ask Aspirus Health's HR team to confirm active E-Verify enrollment before signing any offer, so your extension eligibility isn't at risk after you start.
Target departments with ongoing visa transitions
Aspirus Health's nursing, allied health, and health informatics teams have a pattern of hiring international candidates and supporting H-1B transitions later. Focus your applications on these units, where managers are already familiar with OPT employment authorization timelines.
Use Migrate Mate to verify H-1B history
OPT is your authorization, but your goal is likely long-term sponsorship. Search Aspirus Health on Migrate Mate to see its H-1B filing history by role, so you can assess whether the department you're targeting has actually sponsored international employees before.
Time your application around your OPT start date
Aspirus Health's onboarding runs four to six weeks for clinical roles. Submit applications at least two months before your OPT EAD start date so your employment can begin within your authorized period without gaps that complicate your I-9 verification.
Benchmark your salary using OFLC Wage Search
Healthcare wages at Aspirus Health must meet DOL prevailing wage levels if you later move to H-1B, and starting too low makes that transition harder. Use the OFLC Wage Search to check the wage level for your occupation and geographic area before negotiating your offer.
Aspirus Health OPT Eligibility: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Aspirus Health sponsor OPT visas?
Aspirus Health doesn't sponsor OPT directly, because OPT is work authorization granted by USCIS to the F-1 student, not a petition filed by the employer. Aspirus Health hires students who already hold a valid OPT EAD. For STEM OPT extensions, Aspirus Health must be enrolled in E-Verify, which enables the 24-month extension through USCIS.
Which departments at Aspirus Health typically hire OPT students?
Aspirus Health's strongest OPT hiring tends to be in nursing, allied health disciplines, health informatics, and clinical operations. These teams regularly work with candidates on temporary employment authorization and have established HR processes for I-9 verification and OPT EAD documentation. Administrative and revenue cycle roles also see OPT hires.
How do I start the OPT employment process at Aspirus Health?
Once you have a job offer, provide your OPT EAD to Aspirus Health's HR team for I-9 verification. Your DSO at your school must have already authorized OPT on your I-20. Aspirus Health completes the employer sections of the I-9 and records your EAD details. USCIS handles the authorization itself, not the employer.
How do I find OPT-friendly roles at Aspirus Health on Migrate Mate?
Search Aspirus Health on Migrate Mate to see open roles filtered for employers with active visa sponsorship history. Migrate Mate surfaces H-1B visa filing data by role and location, so you can identify which positions at Aspirus Health have led to long-term sponsorship, helping you prioritize where to apply during your OPT window.
Does working at Aspirus Health on OPT improve my H-1B sponsorship chances?
Yes, if the role you're hired into is one Aspirus Health has sponsored for H-1B in the past. Employers who already understand the H-1B process are more likely to sponsor the same employee at OPT cap-out. Confirming that your specific department has H-1B filing history before accepting an offer is the clearest way to assess your transition prospects.
How does Aspirus Health hire OPT students?
OPT is work authorization granted directly to F-1 students after graduation — no employer petition is required. Aspirus Health can hire OPT students as soon as their EAD card is approved. STEM degree holders can extend OPT by 24 months when their employer is enrolled in E-Verify. Most companies that hire OPT students also support the transition to H-1B when the student's OPT period is ending. Check Aspirus Health's individual postings on Migrate Mate to confirm OPT acceptance per role.
