Target clinical informatics and allied health roles
Baptist Health System KY & IN's EB-2 and EB-3 history points to degree-heavy roles in nursing, health informatics, and allied health. Focus your search on positions requiring a bachelor's or master's degree in a directly related field to align with their documented sponsorship patterns.
Verify E-Verify enrollment before accepting offers
Your STEM OPT 24-month extension requires your employer to be enrolled in E-Verify. Confirm Baptist Health System KY & IN's active enrollment status before signing an offer letter, since a lapse in enrollment makes you ineligible for the extension regardless of your role or degree.
Build your H-1B transition case from day one
OPT is a bridge, not a destination. Document your specialty occupation duties, collect performance reviews, and request a letter confirming your degree requirement from HR during your OPT period. Baptist Health System KY & IN's EB sponsorship track makes H-1B transition a realistic goal for strong performers.
Research prevailing wages using OFLC Wage Search
Before negotiating your offer, look up the prevailing wage for your specific occupation and Kentucky or Indiana location using OFLC Wage Search. Healthcare wages vary significantly by role and geography, and knowing the DOL wage level helps you assess whether the offer supports a viable future H-1B or EB filing.
Use Migrate Mate to confirm Baptist Health's filing history
Search Baptist Health System KY & IN on Migrate Mate to review their EB-2 and EB-3 filing patterns by job title and location. This tells you which departments have a documented sponsorship track record, so you can prioritize roles with real long-term immigration support rather than guessing.
Align your OPT job code with your degree on the I-983
For STEM OPT, your training plan on Form I-983 must show a direct connection between your degree field and your job duties at Baptist Health System KY & IN. Use O*NET to confirm your occupation's standard tasks and skills before your DSO submits the extension to USCIS.
Baptist Health System KY & IN OPT Eligibility: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Baptist Health System KY & IN sponsor OPT visas?
Baptist Health System KY & IN doesn't sponsor OPT directly. OPT is work authorization USCIS grants to F-1 students, not a petition the employer files. What Baptist Health System KY & IN does is hire students who already hold an OPT EAD. For STEM OPT extensions, the system must be enrolled in E-Verify, which enables your 24-month extension through your DSO.
Which departments at Baptist Health System KY & IN typically hire OPT students?
Based on their EB-2 and EB-3 filing history, Baptist Health System KY & IN's strongest sponsorship track record is in clinical, nursing, and health informatics roles. OPT students in allied health, data analytics, and health administration tend to find the most viable pathways, since those departments have documented long-term immigration support for qualifying employees.
How do I start the OPT application process when accepting a job at Baptist Health System KY & IN?
You handle OPT authorization through your university DSO before your job starts. Once you have a start date confirmed with Baptist Health System KY & IN, your DSO updates your I-20 and you file Form I-765 with USCIS. Apply at least 90 days before your program end date, since USCIS processing can take several weeks. Baptist Health System KY & IN's HR team handles onboarding after your EAD arrives.
What is the timeline for transitioning from OPT to H-1B at Baptist Health System KY & IN?
H-1B visa registration opens each March for an October 1 start date. If you're on OPT when your employer files, cap-gap protection extends your authorization automatically if your OPT expires between April 1 and September 30. Baptist Health System KY & IN's EB sponsorship history suggests they're familiar with long-term immigration planning, but confirm H-1B support with HR early in your OPT period.
How do I find open OPT-friendly roles at Baptist Health System KY & IN?
Search Baptist Health System KY & IN on Migrate Mate to see their EB-2 and EB-3 filing history by job title and state, which shows which roles have supported immigration sponsorship in the past. Cross-reference open positions with those job titles to prioritize applications where a long-term pathway is most likely. Always confirm OPT hiring and E-Verify status directly with HR before applying.
How does Baptist Health System KY & IN hire OPT students?
OPT is work authorization granted directly to F-1 students after graduation — no employer petition is required. Baptist Health System KY & IN can hire OPT students as soon as their EAD card is approved. STEM degree holders can extend OPT by 24 months when their employer is enrolled in E-Verify. Most companies that hire OPT students also support the transition to H-1B when the student's OPT period is ending. Check Baptist Health System KY & IN's individual postings on Migrate Mate to confirm OPT acceptance per role.
