Align your degree to CorVel's technical roles
CorVel hires in healthcare IT, software development, and data analytics. Before applying, confirm your degree field directly maps to the role's specialty occupation definition. A mismatch between your major and the job title is the most common reason OPT students lose out at tech-adjacent healthcare companies.
Verify CorVel's E-Verify enrollment before accepting
STEM OPT's 24-month extension requires your employer to be enrolled in E-Verify. Confirm CorVel's enrollment status directly with their HR team before you sign an offer. Starting a role without this confirmation puts your extension eligibility at risk when your initial 12 months run out.
Target CorVel's claims technology and product teams
CorVel's core business is managed care technology, so software engineering, systems analysis, and data roles inside their product and claims platforms tend to have the clearest specialty occupation alignment. Prioritize these teams in your application over generalist or operational support functions.
Use Migrate Mate to confirm CorVel's H-1B filing history
OPT is your authorization, but your long-term path depends on whether CorVel will sponsor H-1B. Use Migrate Mate to review CorVel's DOL Labor Condition Application filing history by occupation code, so you can see which roles they've sponsored before committing to an offer.
Benchmark your salary against OFLC Wage Search data
Before negotiating your offer, look up the prevailing wage for your role and location using the OFLC Wage Search tool. CorVel operates across multiple states, so wages vary by worksite. Knowing the DOL wage floor for your specific occupation code strengthens your negotiating position and flags offers that fall short.
Start H-1B transition planning at month six of OPT
H-1B registration opens in March each year for an October 1 start date. If you join CorVel on OPT, you need to be in active H-1B sponsorship conversations with HR no later than six months into your role to avoid missing the filing window.
CorVel Corporation OPT Eligibility: Frequently Asked Questions
Does CorVel Corporation sponsor OPT visas?
CorVel Corporation doesn't sponsor OPT directly. OPT is work authorization granted by USCIS to eligible F-1 students, not a visa that employers file or petition for. What CorVel does is hire students who already hold a valid OPT EAD, and the company has a history of supporting the transition to H-1B sponsorship for qualifying employees in technical roles.
Which roles at CorVel Corporation typically hire OPT students?
CorVel's strongest OPT hiring tends to be in software engineering, data analytics, systems analysis, and healthcare IT. These roles align most clearly with the specialty occupation standard that underpins both your OPT authorization and any future H-1B petition. Operational and administrative roles are less common entry points for OPT candidates.
How do I confirm CorVel Corporation is enrolled in E-Verify for STEM OPT?
Ask CorVel's HR or talent acquisition team directly before accepting an offer. E-Verify enrollment is a federal requirement for employers who want to hire STEM OPT students on the 24-month extension. USCIS requires you to confirm enrollment before your DSO can recommend the extension on your I-20, so don't wait until after you've started.
How do I find open OPT roles at CorVel Corporation?
Search Migrate Mate to filter for CorVel roles with confirmed OPT and H-1B filing history by occupation code, which gives you a clearer picture of where the company actually sponsors visa holders versus where they post open roles without a track record of supporting work authorization transitions.
How do I know if CorVel Corporation will sponsor my H-1B after OPT?
Review CorVel's Labor Condition Application filing history through DOL public disclosure data, filtered by occupation code, to see which job categories they've sponsored in prior H-1B cycles. You should also raise H-1B sponsorship directly with your hiring manager or HR contact before signing an offer, since the March registration deadline comes up quickly.
How does CorVel Corporation hire OPT students?
OPT is work authorization granted directly to F-1 students after graduation — no employer petition is required. CorVel Corporation can hire OPT students as soon as their EAD card is approved. STEM degree holders can extend OPT by 24 months when their employer is enrolled in E-Verify. Most companies that hire OPT students also support the transition to H-1B when the student's OPT period is ending. Check CorVel Corporation's individual postings on Migrate Mate to confirm OPT acceptance per role.
