Verify your degree matches clinical requirements
Reliant Rehabilitation hires for licensed clinical roles, so your OPT EAD must align with a degree in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech-language pathology. Confirm your program's SOC code matches the job posting before applying, using O*NET to cross-reference occupational requirements.
Target facilities with active E-Verify enrollment
STEM OPT extensions require your employer to be enrolled in E-Verify. Ask Reliant Rehabilitation's recruiter to confirm E-Verify enrollment before accepting an offer, since working at an unenrolled facility disqualifies you from the 24-month STEM extension even if your degree qualifies.
Research prevailing wages before salary negotiations
Pull the going rate for your target therapy role and state using the OFLC Wage Search before your offer call. Reliant operates across many states with different wage levels, and knowing the Level I and Level II benchmarks helps you assess whether the offer supports a future H-1B filing.
Use Migrate Mate to identify Reliant's sponsorship history
Before applying, search Migrate Mate to review Reliant Rehabilitation's H-1B filing history by role and location. This shows which therapy positions the company has sponsored before, helping you prioritize job listings with the strongest track record for long-term visa support.
Apply during clinical rotation cycles not peak seasons
Reliant's hiring follows post-acute care discharge patterns and facility census fluctuations, not traditional corporate recruiting calendars. Submitting your application in late winter or early spring, when new resident intakes ramp up, tends to align with when therapy departments have the most open OPT-eligible roles.
Clarify H-1B transition intent early in interviews
Reliant Rehabilitation has sponsored H-1B visas for therapy staff, so raising your transition timeline during the offer stage is appropriate. Ask specifically whether the facility's HR team works with an immigration attorney in-house or through a retained firm, since that affects how quickly USCIS paperwork moves after your OPT period ends.
Reliant Rehabilitation OPT Eligibility: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Reliant Rehabilitation sponsor OPT visas?
Reliant Rehabilitation hires F-1 students who already hold an OPT EAD. USCIS grants OPT authorization directly to the student, so Reliant doesn't file a petition for OPT itself. What the company does is verify your work authorization at onboarding and, for STEM-eligible roles, must be enrolled in E-Verify to support a 24-month extension.
Which roles at Reliant Rehabilitation typically hire OPT students?
Physical therapist, occupational therapist, and speech-language pathologist positions are the most common OPT-eligible roles at Reliant Rehabilitation. These are licensed clinical positions requiring a relevant graduate degree, which is why they align well with F-1 students finishing therapy programs and entering their post-graduation OPT period.
How do I confirm Reliant Rehabilitation is enrolled in E-Verify for STEM OPT?
Ask the recruiter or HR contact directly during the offer process. E-Verify enrollment is a federal requirement for employers supporting STEM OPT extensions, and Reliant must appear in the E-Verify employer database. You can also search the E-Verify employer search tool independently to confirm enrollment status before signing your offer letter.
How do I find open OPT roles at Reliant Rehabilitation?
Migrate Mate lists OPT-eligible positions at Reliant Rehabilitation filtered by visa type, so you can see active therapy openings without sorting through roles the company won't support. Cross-referencing those listings with Reliant's H-1B filing history by job title helps you identify which positions have the strongest path to long-term sponsorship.
Does Reliant Rehabilitation support the transition from OPT to H-1B?
Reliant Rehabilitation has a history of sponsoring H-1B visas for clinical staff, particularly in therapy roles. If you're hired on OPT, raising the H-1B transition timeline early with your manager and HR contact matters because USCIS has a hard April 1 filing deadline and cap-subject petitions require employer action months before your OPT expires.
How does Reliant Rehabilitation hire OPT students?
OPT is work authorization granted directly to F-1 students after graduation — no employer petition is required. Reliant Rehabilitation can hire OPT students as soon as their EAD card is approved. STEM degree holders can extend OPT by 24 months when their employer is enrolled in E-Verify. Most companies that hire OPT students also support the transition to H-1B when the student's OPT period is ending. Check Reliant Rehabilitation's individual postings on Migrate Mate to confirm OPT acceptance per role.
